A Star is Born

The person capturing this event mistakenly referred to the light in this video as a space portal, but in reality, what he witnessed was the birth of a new star, created above the ruins of CERN after a small mishap:

Effects on the Ecology

Despite wormhole proponents' claims that these fold-space shortcuts are safe, environmentalists are not convinced.  This recent incident (where the wormhole overheated and began melting the air surrounding it) provides some justification for those misgivings:

Alien Shortcuts

The first visitors from outer space had to come the long ways, often traveling hundreds or even thousands of light years to get here. But since the advent of wormholes (or space portals as they are sometimes called),  a one-way trip that used to take decades of space time can now be easily accomplished in just a few minutes:

Off to the Mechanic

Although in this instance, the helicopter was retrieved to provide some roadside assistance to a stranded extraterrestrial from nearby Alpha Centauri:

Forget the Cows

Stories of UFOS stealing cows are rather commonplace, so this abduction of a flying helicopter was a rather unusual sight...

Extreme Rage

The man in the preceding video was rather lucky--the extraterrestrial depicted below took out his road rage on an entire city:

Road Rage

Unhappy at being cut off, the extraterrestrial covered in this news report apparently lost his cool and got even with this truck driver,  forcing the man's vehicle into the highway median and then causing the truck's cargo to disappear:

It is all silly UFO trivia this week...

A Minor Delay

Roger called a little while earlier, informing Benedict that Clovis had encountered a few obstacles on the way to the airport and had to make a small detour, so Benedict was once again on his own this morning. Not that Benedict minded much--he enjoyed working alone, and because he was in charge, he could select the artwork.

His choice for the main gallery today was the Croatian painter, Vlaho Bukovac (1855-1922):

Sticking with the 'Now'

Seeing what lies ahead, we'll wrap up the week in the present tense, visiting the technology fair to admire a number of babes from our own time:

Have a nice weekend...

Pin-Ups of the Future

Albert was skeptical about the time traveler, John Titor, and his tale about journeying back into the past to retrieve a portable IBM mainframe,  so the young scientist took a voyage into the future to try to determine for himself what Titor was really looking for:

The Adversary

Part Two:

Little did the father know that his daughter would one day be called forth to defend Earth against this deadly nemesis, the terrible and fearsome Rocktard:

The Heroine

Part One:

The man was proud of his young daughter's strange abilities, despite the wear and tear on the furniture, knowing in his heart that she would one day grow up to accomplish amazing things.

Natural Ability

The fellow in this next video needed no artificial attachments to enhance his traveling abilities, possessing an innate ability to teleport--a talent that came to light when he went to see a doctor about treating his allergies:

Bionic Machinery

Looking next at cyborg technology:  Zach King demonstrates the interface implanted in his hand, used to transmit computer imagery to his recently installed 3-D printer:

Wrong Turn Somewhere

Fortunately for Lucy, the terminator sent to destroy her was near-sighted and mistook the 8 for a 3 on the road sign and exited the chrono-highway in  the 1980's rather than the 1930's, where he then encountered a woman named Sarah Connor instead:

Ahead of Her Time

Lucy was something of a trendsetter, so her friends were unsurprised to find her using a designer cellphone that hadn't been invented yet. The idea of a portable telephone was quite attractive, so Lucy leapt at the chance to buy one. But, to her dismay, she learned after buying it that she could only talk to people living in the future.  Worse, because of the time zone differences,  Lucy would often end up calling future strangers during odd hours of the day and very late at night, annoying them so much that they hired a terminator to go back into the past to eliminate her.

Better than a Radar Detector

The narrator of this video may be mystified, but readers of the Morning in the Museum postings here in Miscellanea have probably guessed that this is our resident curator, Clovis, on his way to pick up a female friend at the airport,  using his EZ-FOLD portable time manipulator and portal device to get around unexpected obstacles:

Mystery Button

Being a curious sort, Noreen pressed the small button emblazoned with a 'T' protruding from her vehicle's global positioning device as she was driving to work,  wondering about the odd button's purpose.  She learned a split second later when she found herself in a foreign country, on the far side of the globe, barreling perpendicular into traffic:

Before the Rush Hour

It was an early-morning delivery--not normally anything unusual for Harold. But things took an odd turn when he entered the main thoroughfare...

We're going to spend the week looking at a bit of esoteric technology and some (for lack of a better term), paranormal abilities.
