OH my GOSH! We Lost in HOUSTON?
I only say it that way because for a while there we couldn't lose. I was happy to see us heading off to Texas for another 3-game series against the Astros. I mean, who really doesn't like playing a last place team? However in Houston this year the Cubs had been pretty much having their way at the plate, that was until last night.
The Cubbies couldnt' seem to muster up any runs past the solo shot by Geovany Soto. In the end it wasnt' enought to starve off the Astros who pulled out the 9th inning rally with a walk-off single off of Angel Guzman, who'd been looking pretty good on the mound up until last night.
Walk it off... today's another day:

| TEAM | W | L | % | GB |
| Milwaukee | 33 | 26 | .559 | - |
| Cincinnati | 31 | 27 | .534 | 1.5 |
| St. Louis | 32 | 28 | .533 | 1.5 |
| Chicago | 29 | 27 | .518 | 2.5 |
| Pittsburgh | 27 | 32 | .458 | 6.0 |
| Houston | 26 | 31 | .456 | 6.0 |

The Cubs* lost in Houston for the same reason they always lose - the dreaded Matt Clement Syndrome. Meaning, the offense's complete inability (or unwillingness) to produce when the starting pitcher is dominating. Unfortunately, because they're Cubs, this more often than not results in the opposing pitcher throwing the game of his f*cking career. No worries though, say the Cubs' offense, one friggin run is PLENTY enough to win a game, right????
* - denotes my previous statement that I will no longer refer to this collection of chronic underachievers until such time as they prove themselves worthy of the ridiculous amount of press they've received as Central Division champions.
Twice... talk about deja vu!
