You know what?   Call it what you want...   weed, herb, pot, grass, reefer, dope, ganja, hemp, wacky tabacky, bammy, the funk, the bush, broccoli, gimmie, hay, straw, cabbage, ju-ju, stink, skunk, smoke, indo, fuel, christmas trees...   why is this such a big deal?   Great,  he's a pro athlete, he smokes pot and got busted.   Slap him on the wrist, take his shit and move on to the next one just like we do with everybody else.   Whoopty Doo... another NBA stoner.   It's not the drug use that makes me NOT want to watch basketball.   In fact,  if they did that,  I'd probably watch alot more of it. 

According to the Gainesville PD, Noah was arrested around 1:50 a.m. Sunday after an officer spotted him on a sidewalk holding a plastic cup containing an amber drink, a violation of city law. During a search at the station, officers found marijuana in his pocket.   Noah was released after signing a notice to appear before a judge -- standard procedure for such offenses. He could face up to 6 months in jail and a $500 fine for the marijuana charge.

I don't care if athletes smoke pipes, blunts, bongs, sticks,  rockets, hookahs...  they could shoot heroin for all i care.  It's certainly not going to give them any edge in their sport.   It's rapant in the NFL.   Many players,  not just Ricky Williams, have confessed to using marijuana as an added pain killer after their hard hitting games. 

Billions and Billions ServedIt's definately not the equivelant of steroids, or coke, or amphetamines.

I'm still hoping for the day that this is a non-issue,  and I don't have to fear the next piss test at work.   Move on America, Thomas Jefferson would be ashamed.   Maybe everybody will forget Mr. Joakim Noah's whoops,  or maybe his name will join the likes of Ricky Williams, Dona Juanita, Mary Jane, Mary Ann, Sweet Lucy, Queen Ann and live in infamy.
