Football Update:
NO. I don't have my signals crossed. I didn't misread the third base coach signal for me to type about "tapping the Rockies this week". The pull of the ear shouldn't have been a tug at the jersey, and the slide of the arm wasn't supposed to be the chicken dance. I just can't deny it... Football season doesn't end, and there is no offseason.
There have been some interesting moves so far this year, and just days before the NFL draft. First off and leading the news from this year's draft class, Jake Long, the Big Ten Offensive Lineman of the Year the last two seasons out of Michigan has already been signed to a 5 year $30 million contract with the Miami Dolphins. I guess that means they take him as their first pick. In other news, Sean Alexander is now a new free agent. It should be pretty interesting to see which NFL team is going to risk millions by taking on an injury-prone running back. It also leaves the question of what the Seahawks plan to do for the future at the RB position.
Speaking of running backs... any bets on who will snag Darren McFadden? I'm putting my money on Oakland at the #4 slot, or the NY Jets at the #6 slot, unless the Falcons do indeed give up the #3 pick. They've had many offers from many teams, I guess we'll find out at gametime.
We may need to add a football section soon. Once this draft's over I'll be sitting down and calculating who I'm going to take for the first pick on my next fantasy football team.
