Entries in the war on drugs (2)

Light and Easy Going Friday, Part IV

The War on Drugs perform Brothers, the second track on Slave Ambient (Secretly Canadian Records, 16 August 2011).

Critics' Choice -- The War on Drugs

Today, I'll be posting videos for songs from this past year's critically acclaimed indie rock albums, which nevertheless haven't gotten as much airplay or downloads as they deserve. First up, my FRIDAY SONG PICK OF THE DAY. The War on Drugs perform Baby Missiles, track # 10 on the Oakland heartland rock revival quartet's second full-length album, Slave Ambient (Secretly Canadian Records, 16 August 2011). The whole album is a wonderful fusion of punk and orchestral noise pop elements layered on guitar rock elements reminiscent of the 1970s.
