More Oldies

Here's the the Kinks performing Sunny Afternoon to make up for the rain today in the nation's capital:

Retro Saturday Night

Ok, so I'm in one of those moods. Just needed to post a link to a great piece of music performed by a master.

This is an old Tears for Fears song, performed by Gary Jules in the soundtrack for the cult classic, Donnie Darko. The song is rather depressing, but Mr. Jules does such a moving rendition, I decided to highlight it here (especially since it's Saturday and I haven't had a cup of coffee yet—the pot’s died and I need a new one--truly a melancholy occasion).

The Donnie Darko movie? It wasn't bad: it had a good premise but it was rendered rather poorly, in my view (pretentiousness comes to mind).

Music History Part I - Bizarre Punk

May be unsafe for work (NSFW). Even if it's not, you probably don't want to have your co-workers catch you watching this.

This song by the Suburban Lawns was actually a big hit in LA back in the 1980's (I'm still not sure why).

New Born on Friday

Here's some Muse for Friday. It's a great song by a great band. Enjoy:

Thursday Afternoon Song

Here's some Morphine for Thursday (this is not a drug endorsement, despite my earlier flippant comments in this section, but I do like the song):

This is Great!!

Now I can totally be portrayed as the Ryan Seacrest of this website!

A Musical Explanation for this Site

You may be wondering, "why did these clowns create a blog?'

Well..the truth is, we were bored, and this also played a part:
