Free-N-Legal SXSW Sampler from Other Music

Since we're taking a look at the SXSW festival today, I thought I'd toss a bonus MP3 freebie into the mix...we've already featured another free SXSW sampler, but more is better, right?

Lawn Party from Other MusicOther Music, based in New York City, is one of the larger independent music distributors out there.  This year, they've gone across a number of indie labels to "curate" Lawn Party, a 13-track sampler featuring bands involved in this year's festival.  After giving it a quick listen, my First-Listen Favorites are In A Strangeland from Talk Normal, Mayer Hawthorne's Green Eyed Love, and Funeral Singers by Califone.  (That last one is kind of out of my "usual" zone, but the piece just jumped out at me.)

You'll need to register with Other Music, but the download is free; their entire catalog is worth the browsing, so look around.  If your MP3 player still isn't full, drink from the fire hydrant that is our Library of Past Freebies...
