Washington, DC, Part II

The District continues to have, to this day, one of the best hardcore punk scenes in the US. What else would you expect from a city which produced the likes of Bad Brains, Faith, Government Issue, and Minor Threat? Washington's ongoing scene was one of the factors that led former Hüsker Dü frontman Bob Mould to move here about 10 years ago. He's since diversified into pop and electronic genres, but he continues to support the local punk scene.

Anyhow, in 1987, after Minor Threat broke up, Ian MacKaye teamed up with Mould's drummer friend, Brendan Canty, to form Fugazi during the post-punk revival. Here is a fan vid for Waiting Room.
