A Free-N-Legal Kickstart For Christmas Playlists

X5 Classical Christmas SamplerAll right, it's time to beef up that storehouse of Christmas music!  We're going to spend the next four weeks of Free-N-Legal on Christmas samplers, and we're starting things off old school, thanks to our friends at amazon.com.

The latest sampler offering from X5 (whose efforts we've featured on KRAG several times) is Classical Christmas.  This 5-track sampler features the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and several performance groups from Germany.  It closes with a fine, if somewhat by-the-book, rendition of the Hallelujah Chorus from ASO.  This sampler is the perfect background music for your Christmas dinner.

Sampler Claus - amazon.comThe second treat from amazon is Sampler Claus. a 7-track sampler of absolute Christmas classics from absolutely classic American performers.  We're talking Frank Sinatra, Mario Lanza, Robert Goulet, and Mahalia Jackson.  Seriously, even the most hardcore metal fan needs to hear these folks at least once, and--take it from me--if your mom/grandmother/aunt is between the ages of 60 and 80, they'll love this sampler.  (Never miss the opportunity to pick up Family Points!)

Grab them both and get 'em in your rotation...and check back next week for our next installment of festive free-n-legal Christmas music!
