Another great storyteller in song is of course, Billy Joel. In 1971, Joel signed a bad contract with a recording company. While trying to get out of the contract, and not wanting to make money for the company, he hid out by playing in a Los Angeles bar under the name of Billy Martin. 'Piano Man,' was born of this experience.
