Soul Sacrifice
Carlos Santana's father was a mariachi violinist. The Mexican born Carlos learned to play the violin at age 5 and the guitar at age 8. Influenced by Ritchie Valens, one of the few Latino rockers of his era, Carlos ventured into rock with his signature mixture of rock, salsa and jazz. The mixture has proven successful.
The first time I remember hearing Santana was when I saw the documentary film, 'Woodstock' at my local drive-in. I've been a fan since.
Here's a very young Carlos Santana at Woodstock.
