More Blatant Fabrications From Obama
http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives2/2008/07/021066.php
In reference to that blog post, I think it's time to start using the word "liar" instead of talking about this stuff as gaffes and/or pandering.
Washington Post Gets One Right
Fair is fair. When the leftist media back into the truth, attention must be paid.

Michelle Obama: Think of the Children
Oh, brother. The children need her husband. McCain will harm the children. Woe, despair, agony.
"I wish we had time to be divided. I wish we had time to be upset. To be angry. To be disappointed. I wish we did," Obama said. "Because if we had time for that, then things wouldn't be so bad right now. Instead, we're in a place where another four or eight years of the world as it is will devastate the life of some child."

Take Responsibility? OUR Congress? Fat Chance.
Will Congress, in its frantic pell mell race to spend the taxpayers' money on correcting the mortgage mess, take any responsibility for helping to create the mess in the first place? Highly doubtful.
Oh, I'm sure there will be a handful of sane voices out of the 435, but not nearly enough. One must assume that Congress wants to play Cover Our Backsides in order to avoid seeing their 9% approval rating drop even farther into the abyss.
Obama love, media style
I apologize for the bluntness, but there's just no other way to describe my reaction to this than to say I wanted to vomit.
Objective media? Journalism? Right.
From the Obama Campaign Director of Hubris, Part II

Lest there be any illusions about the desired target audience for Obama’s trip, the foreign media, including the BBC, have been left on the Tarmac. Only American reporters are on board “Obama One” as his plane heads from one country to the next.
He will have a 45-minute meeting on Saturday morning with Gordon Brown followed by a press conference, which Obama will conduct on his own outside Downing Street in a blatant departure from the usual protocol.
There will be no Brown at his side to spoil the No 10 backdrop for American voters, even though it would be unthinkable for a British prime minister to appear in the White House Rose Garden without the president.
From the Obama Campaign Director of Hubris:
At a morning background briefing, reporters parried with senior advisers on the characterization of Obama’s speech Thursday in Berlin as a campaign rally. The outdoor speech at the Victory Column could draw thousands of people, similar to the size of Obama events in the United States.
“It is not going to be a political speech,” said a senior foreign policy adviser, who spoke to reporters on background. “When the president of the United States goes and gives a speech, it is not a political speech or a political rally.
“But he is not president of the United States,” a reporter reminded the adviser.

A Little Unintended Humor From the Wild and Crazy Mullahs
Iran's chattel-class females are getting out front of the high fashion curve. Hot stuff, and yet all approved by the Iranian Ministry of 7th Century Repression.
Whoa! Did I just see a hand flash there? Hubba hubba! Yowzer! Woo hoo!

Gas Prices Too High? Raise Taxes, Says Congress
What a marvelous idea! Congress wants to raise gas taxes. That will help by... er... um... that will... wait a minute... let me think... oh, of course! It will keep the earmark industry running at full speed by taking some of the heat off. That's it.
So Congress is at a 9% approval rating. Do I hear 7%? 5%? Some sort of negative number?

Another Leftist Talking Point Discredited
Thanks to Redstate for pointing this out.
In a painfully transparent attempt to belittle our efforts in Iraq, the left pounded away at every conceivable negative, real or imagined or concocted. The presumed looting of arcaeological sites was but one of those leftist tools. Now we know it was a disingenuous attempt at best:

The Strange Case of Obama's Missing Words
Remember Obama's inane call for some sort of massive civilian defense force? Idiotic statement, and apparently his staff members have recognized that fact, and have been busy with the erasers. The statement is gone. Kaput. Outta here. Never existed. What statement?
Copies of the speech do not include these words he spoke:
"We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."
Too bad for Obama that we have them recorded, and posted on Youtube as well. Nice try by the Eraser Squad, but this isn't 1908, it's 2008.
Major Political Gains in Iraq
This will cause heartburn on the left, due to the lefties' total investment in defeat, but the largest Sunni political group, the National Accordance Front, is now back together with the Iraqi government.
Sounds like major political progress to me. But then, I've always pulled for success in Iraq.
Typical NPR Sob Story - Busted
If NPR is nothing else, it's the preeminent media purveyor of guilt. Tugging at heartstrings, making us all feel so sad for the downtrodden, it's a well-worn path for NPR's touchy-feely writers.
Well, this time the aura of "we, as a nation, should DO something about (societal tragedy du jour here)" has been punctured. As Gateway Pundit noted, pictures are not exactly helpful to the hand-wringing NPR agenda:

"The 'Bomb' That Fell on Pearl Harbor"
Ok, who's to blame for this one? Does Obama have totally daft speechwriters, or was he off the teleprompter for that comment?
