Obama Picks up the Coveted Terrorist Endorsement

Here's the Hamas mouthpiece, explaining that Obama would "change" America, and "hoping" he wins.

But then, this Hamas leader also thinks Jimmy Carter was "noble" and a grand success as president.  Given that bit of mental instability, perhaps we shouldn't take his notions too seriously.

But coming at this from the other direction, we should take it seriously that Obama is the preferred candidate of Hamas.  We must ask why this is, and how this reflects Obama's agenda.  And taken in combination with all of Obama's other questionable associations, from William Ayers to Jeremiah Wright, it must give us pause.

The Super Duper Elite Democrats

Well, looks like the Dem elite, led by such wildly successful luminaries as Mike Dukakis and George McGovern, are going to try to short circuit the Democratic convention process.  The people's vote?  Nah.  Forget that.  What we need is a bunch of Super Duper Elitists deciding things in advance.  Keep the Great Unwashed from having too great an impact on the nomination process.  We'll tell those common folk what to think later on.

If this weren't such serious business, it would be a real hoot.  But it is, so it's not.

Dr. Thomas Sowell is Pulling No Punches Here.

I certainly can't add much to this article, other than to say I agree wholeheartedly.

Warning Placard - Should be Required by Law on all Campaign websites

Whether or not it gets the play it deserves—and front-page screaming black headlines wouldn’t be over the top--this story

is huge news.

It certainly puts talk about “defiling the White House" with extramarital affairs or fundraising coffees into a fresh perspective that makes them melt into relative insignificance.

The nation’s highest officials openly acknowledge they directly participated in the greasy criminal details of violating treaty obligations and decided to what level of extreme temperatures a particular prisoner would be exposed and for how many hours or days, how relentlessly he could be drowned, and how many times he was going to be punched in the face.

“Why are we talking about this in the White House?” the Attorney General objected. “History will not judge this kindly.”

I'll say.

Jamiel's Law.

I'd like to see McCain, Obama and Clinton address this issue head on. Tell the voters why they oppose securing our borders and enforcing the law against illegals. But they won't.
Well, at least one politician has come down on the side of sanity:
The article below details how one simple change in state policy can have a huge positive effect on the problem.  If all jurisdictions would adopt such measures, the attrition rate for illegals would skyrocket.  Combine this initiative with proper border control and federal enforcement, and we might be getting somewhere.
Jamiel must be remembered, and the best way to do that is to start eliminating illegal alien sanctuaries.

How Long Is It Going To Take . . . .

for anyone to start bellyaching that McCentury won't release his tax returns?

Any guesses?

Oh My Goodness Gracious!

Apparently it's Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week.

I've not done a thing to prepare . . . .

Gandhi Takes On the Pope

Once again, Arun Gandhi (grandson of the late Mohandas Gandhi) relies on his sophomoric wisdom to criticize Pope Benedict XVI for baptizing the prominent Egyptian-born Italian writer, Magdi Allam, during the Easter holiday.

Allam, seen by many as a moderate Muslim, has frequently criticized fellow members of the Islamic faith for the violent acts committed in its name. He is also an ardent supporter of Israel. On Easter, Allam converted to the Holy Roman Catholic faith.
It doesn't seem to occur to Gandhi that Allam converted of his own free will. But then, Gandhi never mentions the convert by name, leaving one with a nagging suspicion that Gandhi doesn't actually know much about what transpired, nor have any idea who was baptized.
Allam now faces the prospect of being murdered because he is an apostate to Islam, and the punishment for apostasy is death.  But then, he was already facing death for his previous criticisms of the Muslim faith.

Gandhi doesn't mention that, of course. Instead he speaks of climbing metaphorical mountains...
...all in the name of Peace.
Background: below is a random news article regarding the baptism.,CST-NWS-vat23.article
And here are Allam’s own thoughts on his conversion and baptism:

Yes, Men and Women are Different

Men are lazy slobs. But, hey, most guys know that already, so one may wonder why researchers keep doing studies on this attribute of the male half of the species. A recent report from the University of Michigan is a case in point.  Based on the recent research, it was learned that husbands, on average, create seven extra hours of housework for the wife. Again, I'm not sure why such a study was needed (Don't most men already know this?), but since the effort was made, I suppose we should applaud it, and recognize that there are indeed innate differences between the sexes.

Whaaaaa . . . . . ?

Just trying out the new wheels here.

I'm not sure that representing "The [sic] View From the Left" isn't going to be far too crushing a responsibility--I can't purport to speak for anyone but myself. When my mind is open and changeable, not even that.

Petraeus Testifies Before Congress on the Surge

Washington D.C.  General David Petraeus testified before the Senate Armed Services Committee today and cited the progress being made in Iraq due to the troop level increases (referred to as the 'Surge').  He has recommended a 45-day delay in reducing these  levels, but was subject to criticism from various Democrats, including Carl Levin, Ted Kennedy, and Joseph Biden; Levin citing the effort as an open-ended commitment. Hillary Clinton also offered harsh criticism, calling for a plan to begin an orderly process of removing the troops. Dick Lugar, the Republican Senator from Indiana, is also expected to issue criticism.

In contrast, John McCain supports the current  troop levels, and was optimistic about the progress that has been made in Iraq.

Barack Obama will speak with Petraeus tomorrow, when the General testifies before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

Underwear to Play a Role in VP Choice?

Some social conservatives appear to be upset at the prospect of Mitt Romney being chosen as a running mate for John McCain. I'm not saying underwear plays a role in this, but it sure makes a nice headline.

Meteorites the Cause of Leftism?

It seems that stray meteorites may be the source of life on Earth, as well as contributors to left-handedness and leftism in general:
