I Told Myself I'd Never Do This...
That I'd never post Mother Jones' trash over here, especially after seeing so many of my comments "disappear" from their website in the past... but apparently lefties think these videos are actually "newsworthy", "earthshattering" or even capable of changing the downward spiral of the Obama campaign into that of only a clogged toilet.
Here's the one most lefties climaxed over, where Romney stated (factually might I add) that 47 percent of Americans are "dependent upon government" (which in liberal-ese translates to "he hates half the US population"):
That's not really the end though... he also calls Palestinians not interested in peace talks and "committed to the destruction and elimination of Israel" (I know.... right? BIG SHOCKER apparently):
And this one I'm surprise Mother Jones even posts. Obama foreign policy is a joke (despite being constantly announce he's an expert at it... after all, he won a Nobel Prize... did you know he killed Bin Laden too?). He cozies up to Russia, willing to sit down with Iran's leaders but can't find time to meet with Israel because he's got a full schedule of campaigning, partying with Beyonce and you know... other important stuff:
Maybe what Putin, Ahmadinejad, Netanyahu and Obama really need to do is get a tee time set for their own foursome... share a couple carts on the golf course. First argument will come down to who's stuck riding with Netanyahu.

Well, you've made Winnie's day. The poor guy was very nearly in cardiac arrest, fretting over not having a thread like this that he could use as he does all the other threads (the toilet reference seems appropriate here, too).
Whatever helps prevent them from commenting about this blatant attack on the first amendment. They needed a distraction... apparently this will do in the meantime.
Free speech is only for the things they agree with. Never mind the fact that the liberal / progressive agenda wouldn't be where it is today with the protected free speech granted to them by our forefathers. If they honestly think their political movement would be anywhere near the strength that it is today if those who disagreed with it adamantly were able to shut it down on a whim under the guise of "hate speech" or out of pure politics then they're even more clueless than I suspected.
Thank you.
The people CP characterizes as leeches with entitlement attitudes and victim mentalities are seniors, children, teenagers, students, the disabled, the working poor and low-income working families, and military personnel. Oh, and wealthy investors whose income is in the form of capital gains.
Miserable freeloading moochers and grasping wretches stealing from Job Creators to buy their T-bone steaks, flatscreens and Cadillacs. He's a cartoon of a Clueless Plutocrat asshole decrying welfare queens down at the country club. Fuck him. Oh, never mind--he's outsourced that job to himself and his "campaign staff."
I can't wait for the dam of recriminations and finger-pointing to break. There's not enough popcorn in the world. Conservatism's about to be failed. Yet again.
Good thing this secret tape came out. Romney was getting positively hammered for causing the death of a US ambassador and all those Islamist riots.
It'll be interesting to see who this actually dissuades Winston, because so much of what Romney said of Obama is true. Liberalism relies on "leeches" at the core and expands from there until it is deemed mainstream and necessary. From there government aid is construed as a basic need, even a "right" among their most faithful supporters, despite the economics of everything associated with it proving to be more and more impossible to overcome.
Yet for some crazy reason the vast majority of Democrats feel we actually need even MORE government. It shows an even truer disconnect by liberals in regards to where this country is and exactly where this country is headed.
Will there be a budget by election day? 1239 days and counting...
...are the same people looking for free stuff that Romney already implored to vote for the other guy. I know, it's shocking that someone would make the same argument in private that he previously made in public.
Will Mother Jones be posting the full video?
After all, they say they hate edited video hatchet pieces.
(that's generally the meme when it affects somebody on the left)
For thirty years Republicans have hotly insisted characterizing them as wanting to completely shred the safety net in order to provide rope to tie up their yachts with, and revert to feudalism, charity, slut-shaming and private poorhouses is a grossly unfair strawman. Meanwhile they constantly give every indication that's exactly their plan. Part of me's happy that the class war the wingnuts have joined the plutocrats in fighting is now right out here in the open. Looking to Republicans to help reform the welfare system is like looking to a chain saw to reform a cat.
Right now, though, the tension will be between those political pragmatists and realists who want CP to rein it in to preserve any hope at all of winning in November and those, like you, who want him to double down and yell, fuck yeah, half of all Americans are miserable grasping thieving victim-mentality entitled leeches whose votes I'll never get anyway. (So far that's not, uh, decided; he took exactly three questions at his presser before stomping off imperiously, so it could go either way.)
Leftie outrage, translated: "Screw the dead Americans and screw Obama's disastrous foreign policy; we're spending all our time being outraged at Romney for telling the truth about the dependency class, which we are proud to have created."
Redbeard, you left out the drought.
Listen, good luck assembling a winning electoral coalition consisting of billionaires and treasonous race-obsessed lunatics alone. Your "dependency class" includes students, the elderly, the disabled, military personnel and low-income working families. Get bent. You're circling the porcelein. It couldn't happen to nicer bunch of sneering sociopaths.
And there's the race card. I wondered how long it would take before you pulled it. Tell us again; are you in 7th grade, or were you held back in 6th?
Mother Jones' minders, as is always the case with reason-impaired lefties, think they have spiked the ball with those videos. Trouble is, they did it in the wrong end zone, and haven't a clue.
No, seriously? You believe that?
This is not a put-on?
Glenn Greenwald is doing a masterful job on twitter defending the free speech rights of the Innocence of Muslims filmmaker. I don't always agree with Greenwald, but I respect his intellectual honesty.
This one is worth me taking a break from my vacation to post about.
Wasn't somebody just scolding me the other day about how Republicans didn't feel that public assistance programs recipients were theives? The irorny ehh? I can imagine Mach saying telling me in is own hyper literalist fashion, I didn't say they weren't parasites, I said they weren't theives?
I know we've had this conversation before, but if you're paying $1 MM in federal taxes you're making close to $5 MM. And yet we see time and time again that the people on the top of the economic ladder being the biggest whiners in this country. Hands down.
Mitt Romney makes $20 MM a year and pays around 14% in taxes in a given year. And he's whining about his lot in life? And seriously he doesn't even work or create jobs anymore, he's been travelling around the country for the past 6 years conducting his vanity Presidential campaign.
Hey Mitt there are 300 million people in this country who'd love to trade places with you if they could.
Pride before appreciation.
Kwawk, isn't Romney just conceeding your argument about government-dependent class voting their interest?
Does Harry Reid know that?!?!?
[snort] Good one, Mach. As all the cool kids say, "DING DING DING DING."
Oh, please, please, please, please tell me you see this as a CP/Republican triumph. Tell me this marks Mitt's finest hour. ("White House in sight as electorate rewards Romney blunt talk"). I had you all wrong. What I took for unremitting evil turns out to be just everyday rockheaded idiocy and/or psychosis.
The left blogs in '08 had a running gag about how routinely his media enablers unconvincingly trumpeted what seemed on their face to be the most serious setbacks as "This is good news for John McCain." Glad to see that nitwit attitude continues, and I wish it all the success it met with last time around.
Full unedited video is now up. There’s no evidence it supplies any mitigating or meaning-changing context, unlike Breitbart’s thoroughly, disgracefully dishonest puke. (He’s still dead, though, and that’s something. With any luck, that lawsuit will thoroughly clean out his estate.)
*MASSIVE EYE ROLL*
From now until "November 2nd" and beyond he will have to defend himself everytime he sneezes. Of course there is no bias in the MSM so there won't be many bothering themselves with this for long. Uh hm.
Only in the world of liberal would his comments seem SHOCKING!
In each of those "secret" (ooooooh) videos, Romney spoke the truth. The lefties hate that. Therefore, the need to try to turn this into a condemnation of the truth-teller.
Given the majority dishonest media (Obama's unabashed allies who don't even try to hide their biases any longer) it may work. To what degree remains to be seen.
In a very inartful and offensive way, I suppose he is. The complimentary logic to Romneys words, is that people shouldn't care about their neighbors, their commumity or their country. They should only take care of themselves. Which pretty much sums up the ethos of the wealthy in this country. Grab anything you can get. Yell mine, mine, mine! And blame everybody else if anybody says anything about it.
That is IF you assume paying the taxes coerced from you by government is the only means by which you can "care about their neighbors, their commumity or their country."
That's the false, cartoon image the Left wants you to believe about the rich. The truth is Romney HAS GIVEN AWAY millions of dollars to charity.
None of that matters to lefties, Mach. Unless they are in control of how our money is extracted and doled out, it doesn't count. Romney could give away a billion bucks, and still the lefties would accuse him of yelling "mine, mine, mine" and not caring about his fellow man.
Powerline, one of the best and most intelligent blogs going, has come up with another revealing recording, this time of Obama being Obama.
By Kwawk's logic I paid over $2.8 million in taxes per year and I should pay more.
And please tell Harry Reid I paid. I'm growing tired of getting late night phone calls with him moaning about my failure to pay, his heavy breathing and the occasional cowboy poetry.
Hey Clueless Plutocrat! [Btw... if Pluto is a dog, what is Goofy?] CP, you just don't understand. To a leftie, anyone with a dollar more in his pocket is an Evil Rich Guy, and is to be punished for his success.
Oh, good lord! Every time this appeasing and bowing clod opens his mouth, things get more dangerous for Americans around the world. Check this out.
Yes, sure, that will work. Just like begging a mob of Nazis to look out for the welfare of Jews.
Projecting weakness has NEVER helped. General McClellan, Neville Chamberlain, Jimmy Carter, Barry Obama, all failures at understanding this basic truth.
Oops
Sure it was.
Don't be so hard on Mother Jones. After all, what's a few minutes of missing "secret" tape? No one cares. I mean, it's not like a few minutes of missing tape could cause any serious investigations or repercussions, or cause anyone to have to resign high office, or anything. Right?
Contrary to the Democrat agenda, Rasmussen reports that the vast majority of Americans, 81% to 9%, say that aid recipients should have to prove they are here legally.
The question: Before anyone receives local, state or federal government services, should they be required to prove they are legally allowed to be in the United States?
Pretty straight forward, not easily spun by the illegal alien enabler lobby.
The discouraging thing is that a lot of that 81% will still mindlessly vote for the Illegal Alien Enabler-in-Chief, Barry Soetoro Obama.
No one really expects Millardton Willardshire Thurston Howellston Romneyborough IV to actually CARRY the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (God save it!), my southern neighbor where within living memory he served as Governor. But did anyone think he’d actually be losing it TWO-TO-ONE?
Hmmm. Come to think of it, with the exception of Utah, he’s pretty much relinquished all hope of earning the electoral votes of . . . anywhere he's got houses. Any connection there?
Best campaign move Thurston could make right now? Go into hiding. Just like the members of the previous “Administration.” The more we see of him, the less we like him.
Lol, if Romney is "Thurston Howell", then I guess that makes Obama "Gilligan".
Wow. Those two sarcastic comments really only lend themselves to one meaning: These two raving lunatics imply Mother Jones deliberately and nefariously edited something OUT of the Romney video that might supply some missing context that would render what Romney IS heard saying, at very considerable length and in very considerable detail, somehow less offensive, vile, disgusting and revealing. No person who is not in a medical coma—or Wingutz ™ (but I repeat myself)—can possibly imagine that makes any sense whatsoever.
Irony is dead. What a preposterous and ridiculous band of idiots are the Nooshanz.™
I had a classmate like you, Winston, during my first year of college. We attended a contemporary government round table class together. Like you, he had a fat mouth, but could do little but repeat the same series of pejoratives over and over again, each time appearing more desperate to be noticed as the political genius he thought himself to be. After the obnoxious fellow had completed one particularly loud and arrogant diatribe, which included personal disparagement of some other members of the class (and very stupidly the professor himself) the professor simply said something to the effect of: "Be quiet as you leave the hall. You, Sir, are through for the day."
I believe the clod wound up with a failing grade, something rarely seen in a free-wheeling round table class. It wasn't his opinions that got him into hot water, because all opinions were welcomed, encouraged, and aggressively debated. It was his abominable attitude.
Hell's bells, it could have actually BEEN you. Do you weight 300 pounds and chain smoke? What year did you graduate?
Besides, missing tape only matters if it might benefit a Democrat... duh!
They cover that in Journalism 101.
Shorter Winston: I know my statement about the full, unedited video of being released turned out to false, but hey look! Squirrel!
I'll ask you very directly, Redbeard; what do you think might be in the video missing from what Mother Jones posted? What do you think Mother Jones magazine is hiding?
You and Mac clearly suspect foul play or bad faith of some sort. What is it?
No skinny, missing tape only matters if what's in the missing part would make a difference. That's the difference between the Shirley Sherrod tape and the ACORN tapes and the Mitt Romney Whitey Tape.
Shorter Winston again: Oh, and it's totally unfair to speculate that the secret Romney video was nefariously edited to make him look bad, but it was totally fair for me to speculate that the unreleased Romney tax returns contains evidence Romney committed a felony.
I think preposterously maintaining that some missing context that Mother Jones slyly edited out of the videotape would completely change the meaning of what CP spent several minutes and several paragraphs saying clearly and in detail, is just the ticket, Nutz. That’ll surely get Moneybags McPrivilege back in this race. Go with that one, fellas. He’s not a bad boy, just a misunderstood one.
Actually, other stuff on the video is potentially even more damaging than the 47% jive. He says that—beyond presuming his mere election as Confidence-Fairy-in-Chief will cause the economy to improve—he has no ideas or plans.
Foreign policy? CP has no intention of providing any leadership in the Middle East whatsoever, explicitly says he will simply “kick the ball down the field.” In fact, there's a prospect that, after the Palestinian elections, a Palestinian-Israeli settlement could be reached, he says a former Secretary of State told him. But how did he respond when a former head of the State Department tells him it might be possible to resolve the most chronic, intractable and damaging international problem all modern Presidents face? “I didn’t delve into it.” Say, what?
Looks more and more like this rich-ass privileged palooka feels about Prezidentin’ the same way Massachusetts’ current governor says he felt about governorin’: he definitely wants the title. He doesn’t really want to perform the job. Something tells me we’re gonna dodge a bullet.
Someone please call the whaaaaambulence for Winston before his fake outrage gives him a stroke.
And Winston, when the missing tape is in question the liberal media gives the Democrat cause every benefit of the doubt. If Romney were a Democrat we'd be hearing about how space aliens could have swooped in and swapped Mitt back out with the body double they had put in place ... somewhere during those 1 or 2 minutes. Obviously the alien beings have been trying to scan Mitt's big business brain and learn how awesome he is for the sake of their own race. / swoon The MSM would lap it up... or this would be treated like the big non-story it really is. Just sayin'
...I really don't care because I don't see anything heinously wrong with what Romney said.
But when falling, it's not uncommon to grasp for straws.
Gerrronnimmooooooo!
OK Skinny, so you admit it's well-nigh impossible imagining any plausible scenario in which Romney's remarks were misrepresented, but nevertheless the Nutz are perpetually victimized by a liberal media conspiracy ANYWAY. With all due respect, young man, You sound crazy. Now, you have a right to sound crazy, in fact it's a choice you can make anew every day, but choices have consequences. Nobody listens to people who spout ridiculous nonsense. I've got one on my block but I limit my interactions to occasionally giving him money for coffee (or whatever he does with it).
By the way, two incumbent Republican Senators don't agree with you about the "non-story" aspect. They're anxious about re-election and are distancing themselves from CP's remarks. I guess that's good news for Mitt Romney, huh?
No, I'd actually be partial to believing the story of Mother Jones and the camera being turned off (my questions would be then... who was manning the camera? what caused it to shut off? How did they realize it got turned off? How did they get it back on without being noticed? Simple questions most journalists are incapable of thinking up themselves). I've been the one filming / audio recording many meetings at various political get-togethers so I've been the victim many times of bumping the wrong button, spacing off and not hitting record in the beginning, not realizing my Android's recording app only records for 5 minutes and then forgetting to check it every 5 minutes, etc....
... however that's never mattered to them (MJ) when they're on the flip side of the debate. What we're being fed to believe is that it matters now... that they're the "honest" ones here after all. Simple mistake. I see them instead struggling to remain relevant given the nature of video edits in the political realm over the years.
I wish I was so one-sided Winston that I didn't think there was a liberal bias as you seem to think, but I unfortunately know otherwise. I tell people working with me in political campaigns not to even talk to the media because 90% of what we say at the grassroots has, does and will be taken out context to support a pre-determined agenda (b.t.w., have I said fuck Lee Enterprises in a while?)
... it's only getting worse with the circling of the wagons for Obama. (can't say I've ever yawned through a "political earthquake" of "Seismic" proportions before)
When it's not going their way, it's generated anyway.
The fact you think it isn't only tells me you need to get out more.
Give it a rest, Winnie. Maybe you don't ever get tired of posting crapola, but you make the rest of the world exhausted.
