Healthy Eating Open

Despite the recent troubles at our embassies in Libya, Egypt and elsewhere, our first lady insists that the real national security threat to our country is obesity*. Go figure. And President Obama wonders why the first lady doesn't draw a salary?

Hey, Bernanke, let's print a bunch more money, what could go wrong? What is that now? QE10? I have lost count.

Oops.

"Ratings firm Egan-Jones cut its credit rating on the U.S. government to "AA-" from "AA," citing its opinion that quantitative easing from the Federal Reserve would hurt the U.S. economy and the country's credit quality."

From CNBC.

But don't worry, the Wall Street Journal will always have Obama's back, no matter what claims Obama's campaign ads make.

Wait. What?

I'm so glad I can stop looking at Joe Biden below nuzzle on that babe. It was making my stomach queasy every time I posted a link.

IowaHawk Twitter;

Priceless.

President Downgrade must be pleased. His plan, cooked up with his leftist allies in Congress, is succeeding quite well.

At the tail end of the CNBC story it mentions that Moody's, Fitch, and Standard & Poor's all show a negative outlook for the U.S. Hooray! It's sorta like a clean sweep! A four-peat, in basketball terms that the president can understand.

And more shameful news arrives. Seems that the Islamists at CAIR, the Muslim front group for Hamas, and unindicted co-conspirators in a terror funding plot, have asked Al "Tawana" Sharpton to deliver the keynote address at their big meeting this month.

How fitting. A phony setting the tone at a gathering of phonies.

CTU strike, embassy riots, 4 dead Americans, credit downgrade, domestic bomb threats, DOJ investigating video maker. DAMN YOU ROMNEY.

Just watched the "Innocence of Muslims" over at youtube. If I didn't know better I'd swear it was a Mel Brooks/bill maher production. Desert scenes have reverberations like their talking in a tiled bathroom. Too funny. Replace Muhammad with Jesus and I'd be offended by it. But I wouldn't go looking to kill anyone or burn the flag of their country. But then, ignorance is what it is.

Good for google for refusing to remove the video.

In the vein of the Keystone cops Hillary is trying to tell us that a 15 minute movie on You Tube caused the coordinated military attack on a secret safe house in Libya with RPG's, machine guns, mortars and grenade launchers? Really? Are there any honest dems out there who are willing to call bull**** on this?

September 15, 2012 at 13:07 | Unregistered CommenterThomas Miller

Well really t.m., who DOESN'T carry a mortar base (that requires 4 men to move) and a few cases of mortar shells around with them, not to mention the launchers, guns and ammo... when protesting a "movie" on the fly... on 9/11.... in multiple countries... when warnings were issued of possible violence... uh, did I mention on 9/11 already?

Oh, but it's not Obama's fault (just ask the Obama fanboys at the Daily Beast, who claim it all happened so fast, and it was so chaotic, and crazy, and... how could ANYBODY see this coming? ), or the fault of Hillary Clinton (who they've perched up more to deflect criticism from Obama at this point).... or any fault of a serious security collapse. Of course not, not when it could so obviously be the fault of that clueless plutocrat Mitt Romney who rushes in and criticizes the inaction of our president, or something. It's not like Mitt Romney is a foreign policy "expert" like our great and wise leader Obama. We should do what he says... apologize... that'll win over the terrorists. If that fails, we could always try bowing.

Oh, and new policy... whenever our guys/gals get tortured, RAPED then murdered by terrorists... we should apologize for any hurt feelings? Aww, shucks... they died before you could get one off and now you have blue balls... we're sorry about that... send us the PO Box to where we can send some aid and we'll make it up to ya'.

(Last I checked people got beheaded for rape in Islam... So maybe some bombing runs aimed at the Muslim Brotherhood would be doing all of Islam a favor.)

September 15, 2012 at 17:01 | Unregistered Commenterskinnydipinacid

Dem heartburn du jour: Per Rasmussen today, it's Romney 48% and Obama 46%.

But I'm hardly cheering. The fact that 46% of the country has its collective head up its collective backside is frightening and depressing. Ignorance is not pretty.

Sudan gave Obama his orders, and like a good little Dhimmi he bowed and obeyed. There was supposed to be a detachment of Marines sent to protect our embassy in Sudan, but the Sudanese bosses told Obama no. Obama caved, and told everyone to retreat instead.

Golly, that'll show the Islamist scum that they can't mess with us.

How much longer does the United States need to carry on without a leader? A few months, or four years? We'll know soon just how smart or stupid the voters are.

September 16, 2012 at 06:48 | Unregistered CommenterRedBeard

Ain't it the truth RB. It seems that the voting population of today is less enlightened and educated and more out of touch than those good people were back in 1789 who didn't have television, the web and twitter.

September 16, 2012 at 07:02 | Registered CommenterTijuana

The movie "Idiocracy" isn't a comedy; it's prophecy.

Meanwhile, we get this additional bit of idiocy. And weakness. Apparently, Sudan gave Obama his orders, and like a good little Dhimmi he bowed and obeyed. There was supposed to be a detachment of Marines sent to protect our embassy in Sudan, but the Sudanese bosses told Obama no. Obama caved, and told everyone to retreat instead.

Golly, that'll show the world that no one messes with us.

Well, at least the Obama cabal is finally starting to act to protect us from terrorists, by hauling in the anti-Islam filmmaker for "questioning." You know, thought crimes and all. Screw the First Amendment. We cannot allow the delicate feelings of terrorists, rioters and murderers to be bruised by the horror of... a video.

Thanks, Barry. I'll sleep a lot more soundly now that you're going after the eveeeeel filmmaker. A few more bows and apologies, and I'm sure all the rioters and murderers will join with you for a rousing chorus of Kumbaya.

The New York Times editorial of October 2, 1999, defends the display of Andres Serrano’s Piss Christ and Chris Ofili’s The Holy Virgin Mary:

A museum is obliged to challenge the public as well as to placate it, or else the museum becomes a chamber of attractive ghosts, an institution completely disconnected from art in our time.

The New York Times editorial of September 12, 2012, condemns the display of The Innocence of Muslims:

Whoever made the film did true damage to the interests of the United States and its core principle of respecting all faiths.

So I guess it takes acts of murderous savagery to earn respect from Leftist cowards. Noted...

AP is reporting that Iran has taken advantage of the West's latest dhimmitude to increase the bounty on killing British author Salman Rushdie. With Obama's new anti-blasphemy policy, I hope he's not hiding here in the US.

September 16, 2012 at 10:18 | Registered CommenterMachiavelli

Mach;

It wouldn't surprise me if the Obama administration gives up Rushdie to placate/appease the Islamist. We can't make them angry; they might attack our consulate’s and kill our ambassador's.

Great point by mistermix over at Balloon Juice.

. . . the Romney campaign is what you get when your incubator is Fox News.
Romney and his advisors are all used to a media environment of puffball questions and solemn nods over the stupidest of talking points. His opposition in the primaries was almost entirely people who were auditioning for a contract with Roger Ailes. When you marinate in an environment where reactionary rhetoric has no consequences, you’re going to think that the right thing to do when an ambassador may have been killed is to make up lies in an effort to blame Obama hours before the bodies have even been identified. When you are used to a world of unquestioning icon veneration and hero worship, you expect that Clint Eastwood can do magic without a prepared speech. And if you live in a world driven by sloganeering, you can become convinced that a campaign can be run on completely non-specific “plans”, and you think that making up the details as you go along is not only practical, but is actually a good idea.
. . .
the Obama campaign . . . aren’t acting like a bunch of hothouse flowers, wilting the first time the real world intrudes on their sunny, warm fantasy world. They’ve been living in a five year shitstorm . . . part of the reason they don’t fuck up on a regular basis.

Great point. I can hear the deranged Nooshnutz™ choir now—blathering preposterously how the Obama campaign sux and CP’s is brilliant (uh, riiiiight . . . zat explains why it rests so heavily on massive vote suppression, amirite?). Fact is, though, #Romneyfail has been one spectacular sprawling comic pratfall after another.

At this point there may be about, what, seventeen undecided voters left? Now, those folks may not know jack about politics or policy but they sure know this—that on the evidence of his campaign so far—Clueless Plutocrat offers to bring to the Oval Office a level of clownish lurching incompetence rivaled only by the Catastrophe That Walks On Two Legs. That’s what you get when you convince yourself your only audience is the hacks running the Faux "news" studio and all the brain-dead ignoramuses and bigots who cheer executions, torture, murdered teenagers and death by noninsurance. Because they’re not the larger America.

OK Tom whateva ya say. All the news today is about the #Romneyfail campaign staff fighting with and blaming each other. Some promise to bring more culture war red meat, others promise CP’s finally gonna get specific about his policies. Is this what winning campaigns do? On the contrary, it’s what WHINING campaigns do.

CP has mounted the campaign the base wants and says is the only way to win. Hasn’t etch-a-sketched back to the center, just attacks Obama—most recently with racially provocative lies. Selected Tea Party dreamboat Ryan as. Spewed his disgusting “sympathizing with Muslims” crap in the middle of a crisis; all the dittoheads are moaning, they love it so much.

So why isn’t it working? Wht do I sense conservatism is about to be failed again?

September 17, 2012 at 12:24 | Unregistered CommenterWinston

Nothing like a good even-handed Politico or HuffPo sourced article to lather up the nutters. I see Rassmusen has Romney up 2% which is probably closer to 5%. This doesn't surprise me, when the Prez tells American he is "heartbroken" over the loss of __________ then flies to do fundraisers with Jay Z besides being an incompetent boob he's also seen as a heartless prick.

September 17, 2012 at 13:16 | Unregistered CommenterRedBeard

I'd also like to know who Winston is quoting when he wrote

“sympathizing with Muslims”

because that comment doesn't appear anywhere in Romney's statement.

The next time an Obama drone opens his/her pie-hole about Obama being the "best friend" the military has ever had, please remember the DNC salute to our U.S. Navy with pictures of Russian ships and the backdrop to Lurch's dem convention speech with this:

"Fighter jets in Democratic convention’s military montage were Turkish, not American."

It's laughable on this Monday PM how inept theses clowns are. Nothing brings out the pride of the Arm Forces and Americans like Russian ships and Turkish war planes. What next; the use of the Turkish jets at the DNC was a "spontaneous event" based on a YouTube video? LOL.

Also, you guys might wanna start a new thread for the secret Romney recording where he calls half the country lazy shiftless losers in front of his wealthy donor friends.

September 17, 2012 at 20:32 | Registered CommenterChoy Lee Mu

Choy;

Your right, something Obama can be very proud of forcing half the country on welfare. It does run counter to his "we're kicking ass" theme but no one ever lost a bet under-estimating the stupidity of this administration.

September 17, 2012 at 21:49 | Unregistered CommenterThomas Miller

I have it on a good authority (like an un-named source for all Politico stories) that Obama stated Americans bitterly cling to their "EBT Cards."

September 17, 2012 at 22:04 | Unregistered CommenterThomas Miller

That's great: Choy, Tom and I all agree on something. So who can post us a new thread on the secret Romney recording? I'm tired of talking about healthy food. And I'm really intrigued CP thinks of half the nation as shiftless lazy moochers.

September 17, 2012 at 22:42 | Registered CommenterWinston

Choy/Brent is not quoting Romney, but rather quoting the leftie echo chamber voices who put pejorative words into Romney's mouth. The real thrust of what Romney actually said is nothing more, or less, than the truth, that nearly half the country pays no income tax, that Obama starts out with a huge base of voters who are dependent upon government checks, that the entitlement mentality works hugely in Obama's favor, and that to win, Romney needs the independent vote.

Romney only stated the obvious. Would any leftist care to disagree with the facts? Lefties should cheer Romney's words, since they indicate just how successful the left has been in warping society's view of self-reliance and creating the massive entitlement voting bloc that Obama enjoys. Stand up, you lefties. Be proud of what you have created.

September 18, 2012 at 02:29 | Unregistered CommenterRedBeard

Meanwhile, Obama is unable to sell the government's share of GM, even though GM execs have a plan. Why? Because the taxpayers would take a huge financial bath, and put the lie to Obama's false claims about GM's "rescue."
