Presidential Comparison Open

Hmm. President Obama has been compared to a number of past U.S. Presidents, including both the Roosevelts and Lincoln, but, if you ask me, the one he is becoming closest to in demeanor is this fellow:

Have a nice weekend and post what you like.

Good call, Zoy, but there are differences. For example, Dick Nixon actually had a few close personal friends.

I'm actually starting to believe that the reason our leftie kids are getting all butt-hurt over the Lightbringer's insistence upon stepping on his own dick every day is their belief in the Wookie's emails that say Barack so very much wants to have dinner with them, if only they'd cough up the three bucks.

It's really kinda sad. Pathetic and creepy, but sad all the same.

"The Obama Phone - Free Cell Phones for Welfare Recipients

I had a former employee call me earlier today inquiring about a job, and at the end of the conversation he gave me his phone number. I asked the former employee if this was a new cell phone number and he told me yes this was his "Obama phone." I asked him what an "Obama phone" was and he went on to say that welfare recipients are now eligible to receive (1) a FREE new phone and (2) approx 70 minutes of FREE minutes every month."

It's just not fair if everyone doesn't get to share in the American dream. Nobody can survive without a cell phone.

Oh, wait... too late.

I think we need to look at Obama as a composite. He compares to, but surpasses, several past presidents.

He's a greater foreign policy dope than Jimmy Carter.

His underlings are more corrupt than those of Grant or Harding.

His personal demeanor is colder than that of Nixon.

The damage he has done to race relations exceeds that done by James Buchanan.

Quite a guy, earning so many superaltives.

June 23, 2012 at 07:16 | Unregistered Commenter1RedBeard

Yeah, but Biden is no Gerald Ford...
he's not even capable enough to be Obama's Spiro Agnew

That's the one guy who's safe. Nobody's gonna say...

I think my new favorite word from this weekend is Compositary... it's a half & half term created in honor of one of the many Barack Obama's "embellishments" (a.k.a. odious, audacious whoppers of some monstrous lies) where he stated he had a "secretary", but in keeping with his "composite" tradition.... that turned out to be completely bullshit as well.

Hence my new favorite word: COMPOSITARY

I loved this citation from Newsbusters:

In “Dreams from My Father,” President Obama wrote about having his “own secretary” during his embarrassing days as a corporate sellout. One problem: like his composite girlfriend, the secretary wasn’t so much an actual secretary as a figment of his overactive imagination.

Originally he was the first black president... then the first gay president... now he's just the first composite president, created and built up by one lie after another. Just a big big, fat pile of squishy, whopping, steamy, odious, monstrous shit-turds of lies squirted out by George Soros crowd and the Democrat establishment.

If only they could find a big enough paper towel to cover it up with and walk away and save some bit of dignity they would do it in a heartbeat. They want nothing more than to avoid getting that shit smell all over their nice expensive clothes. Cover it up real nice and hope some innocent dolt wanders in and steps in it. They'd love to blame it all on that poor schmuck... however they have one big problem: They put all their faith, hope and political fortune into Barack Obama and the blood is already on their hands (literally).

Historian Eric Foner observed:

In effect, the Klan was a military force serving the interests of the Democratic party, the planter class, and all those who desired restoration of white supremacy. Its purposes were political, but political in the broadest sense, for it sought to affect power relations, both public and private, throughout Southern society. It aimed to reverse the interlocking changes sweeping over the South during Reconstruction: to destroy the Republican party's infrastructure, undermine the Reconstruction state, reestablish control of the black labor force, and restore racial subordination in every aspect of Southern life.

Wikisource has original text related to this article:

Interview with Nathan Bedford Forrest
To that end they worked to curb the education, economic advancement, voting rights, and right to keep and bear arms of blacks.[42] The Ku Klux Klan soon spread into nearly every southern state, launching a "reign of terror against Republican leaders both black and white. Those political leaders assassinated during the campaign included Arkansas Congressman James M. Hinds, three members of the South Carolina legislature, and several men who served in constitutional conventions."[

Come on, Skinny. You know very well that the "mainstream" comedians who had such fun with Ford banging his head on Marine One's doorframe will provide equal mockery of The One for falling down on stage. Right? I mean, right?

Another comparison might be between Barack Hussein Obama and Vidkun Quisling. Both "leaders" operate(d) underhandedly, and in opposition to the best interests of their own countries.

June 25, 2012 at 07:22 | Registered CommenterRedBeard

Gray Rider, could you stop being a wanker? Or alternatively , could you stop pretending history stopped decades ago?

Today's Republicans are far different from their forebears. The party of free labor is deeply hostile to unions and devoted to corporate interests. The party that secured the Union and viewed the federal government, in the words of Massachusetts Senator Charles Sumner, as "the custodian of freedom," has adopted the Old South's belief in state sovereignty. The party on which generations of feminists pinned their hopes now harbors the most virulent opponents of a woman's right to control her own person. The party that in its 1856 platform condemned as international brigandage the Ostend Manifesto, which called for the United States to "wrest" Cuba from Spain, now appears to view Cuba as by rights a wholly owned subsidiary of the United States.

Most striking, the party of emancipation and Reconstruction has become deeply hostile to civil rights enforcement, affirmative action--indeed, any measures that seek to redress the enduring consequences of slavery and segregation. Republicans, George W. Bush acknowledged in his recent speech before the NAACP, have "not always carried the mantle of Lincoln." This was quite an understatement. Ever since Barry Goldwater carried five states of the Deep South, proving that Republicans could rebuild their Southern wing by appealing to white resentment over civil rights gains, Republicans have adhered to a Southern strategy that has turned most of the levers of power within the party over to the white South and the conservative extended South, which stretches into the Southwest and Southern California.

In 1996 Republicans even advocated the repeal of one of the party's crowning achievements, the section of the Fourteenth Amendment that bestows citizenship on all persons born in the United States. Their platform called for denying citizenship to the children of persons who entered the United States illegally or "are not long-term residents." At this writing it is not clear whether this example of uncompassionate conservatism will be retained in this year's platform. Here Republicans were true to their history or at least to its nativist element. Unfortunately, today's Republicans have abandoned the best parts of their heritage while retaining the worst.

Historian Eric Foner in 2000

LoL @ Eric Foner...
nice, non-partisan source you got there.

The man's career seems to be quite slanted left... to put it mildly.
(makes me so glad he's the kind of guy writing the history books)

This is the kind of guy Foner is:

In 2005, Foner -- along with such luminaries as Michael Posner and Henry Louis Gates -- served as an advisor to the International Freedom Center (IFC), which played a leading role in determining how to proceed with the construction of a World Trade Center Memorial at Ground Zero in New York. (Other key players influencing the IFC project included billionaire funder George Soros and ACLU Executive Director Anthony Romero.) Instead of a tribute to the victims of terror or the heroes of 9/11, the IFC -- which received funding and support from such sources as the Open Society Institute, Human Rights First, and the ACLU -- planned “a high-tech, multimedia tutorial about man’s inhumanity to man, from Native American genocide to the lynchings and cross-burnings of the Jim Crow South.” Due to public outrage, New York Governor George Pataki removed the proposed IFC project from plans for the World Trade Center Memorial in September 2005.

Truly an honorable and remarkable fellow.

The sarcasm of

Means something OTHER than “Comedians are liberals and unfair to Republicans”?

Listen, I tell you what. If you can come up with some remotely plausible meaning for

that is not yet another Wingnut Trip to the Whinefest Well (“Liberal colleges! Liberal television! Liberal Hollywood! Liberal historians! Liberal Comedy Clubs!”), you’ve earned Winston making a substantial contribution to the Romney and Scott Brown campaigns. In no universe does that mean anything else.
Skinny , I think the whole point of posting that sailed completely over your head. Foner is the historian Grayrider chose to quote to attest to the Democrat [sic] Party’s relationship with racism. If he counts Finer is an expert on Reconstruction and the early years of the Republican Party (he is, probably the world’s foremost) maybe he’s also interested in Foner’s take on what happened to Republicans over the past few decades. Or maybe not. The rest of the story certainly doesn’t support Grayrider’s crackpot views of history.

Wait, wait, wait! I’ll confess, when the sarcastic asshattery gets THIS thick, it gets difficult to even distill any coherent point at all out of the crackpot gestures wingnuts make. But, just so I’m clear, Redbeard calls me a liar for characterizing his point as “Comedians are liberally biased,” yet Tom Miller says their liberal bias is undeniable. Which is it?

I would like to take a moment and thank Bill Maher for stating what all us pro-gun proponents have been telling liberal mushbrains like Maher for quite some time now...
that criminals, even when not given access to guns, will find a way to get them.

He said that and some other really idiotic stuff...
like saying Republicans live in a bubble while admitting he had NO idea what Fast and Furious was until just last week. By the way, have any of you righties ever once viewed F&F as "two black guys selling guns to Mexicans", as Maher assumes we do?
(because obviously he's the expert... he's sorta heard about it for a whole WEEK now)

If you stomached that video, feel free to watch clip two and clip three.

On the bright side, from inside his bubble Maher can remain oblivious to the real world. He'll have no idea people like me are completely mocking him for correctly identifying himself as only a fraction of the tiny person we knew him to be. He'll be too busy watching other out-of-touch networks that not only still see him as brilliant, funny and relevant pundit... but the same that for some reason couldn't even find a way to report Fast and Furious in a manner so other bubble-dwellers like Bill would know they're not talking about a Vin Diesel movie.

Or maybe somebody could show Bill Maher what Google is? There are just ideas.

was as wacky as it gets. I got your point exactly right: your statement doesn't lend itself to any other possible explanation.

You sound grumpy, Redbeard. It is sad how thoroughly life’s humor escapes you. But remaining a self-righteous, cruel, belligerent hater is a daily choice that will inevitably leave anyone dismal, melancholy, friendless and glum, not to mention fuming at the comedy world, which, far from respecting ignorant, self-important dicks, thrives on them as raw material. You’re certainly less likely to enjoy an occasional belly laugh if you’re convinced the entire world from academia to media to comedy club is conspiring against you. Pro tip: freshness is the key to humor; at this point, the tired, terminally threadbare “medication” jeers are just yawn-provoking. Put a little work into your routine, we’ll all be happier for it.
