Congressman King Accuses Obama Of Security Leaks

FOX NEWS

Recent security leaks of classified intelligence information have been of great concern in Washington D.C.. New York Republican Representative Peter King is accusing the Obama administration of purposely leaking the information in order to bolster his image of being tough on terrorism.

He's trying to be like George Patton or John Wayne," Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., told Fox News.

Further fueling the matter is Attorney General Eric Holder's decision to appoint two U.S. Attorneys to look into the leaks rather than using outside investigators.

Some Republican lawmakers have questioned whether the attorneys assigned by Holder will be able to act independently of the Obama administration. King added his voice to those skeptics Sunday, questioning what kinds of powers those attorneys might have should they come across wrongdoing.

If King's accusation are false, this could be a career killer for him. But, if true, the consequences would prove to be a greater disaster for the president.

One of Holder's investigators is a large donor to Barack Obama. I'm sure he will be TOTALLY impartial.

John "Usually Squishy" McCain has straightened up his spine and said that the White House had to have been involved in the leakage.

Even the lefties are getting on the train. Kirsten Powers said that if the White house wasn't involved, she's the queen of England.

Obama's denials are looking pretty shaky at this point.

Btw, Gray, that picture of The One almost made me lose my breakfast. You should post a warning first, that there's gonna be something really disgusting below. ;-)

Yeah, I can see "the one" standing on open ground in the midst of battle commanding his troops as bullets whistle by either side of his head. A real Patton/McCarthur kinda commander. After all, he "is"the guy who single handedly took down bin laden.

He's the precedent of the United States, fachrissake, he wouldn't endanger national security for his own political gain. What is wrong with y'all. Where's windy?

There is no such thing as a career killer for a wingnut Republican. Look at Michelle Bachmann and Sarah Palin.

Who is surprised by these coordinated intelligence leaks from the WH? When Senator DiFi says it's the worst she's ever seen you have to realize we have the most narcissistic President ever holding down 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. (sorry Bill Clinton.) I mean a President and his handlers who would have you think Obama fast roped from the Black Hawks down on OBL's compound to build himself up won't care a rat’s ass about the life or death of a Pakistani doctor who collected DNA to narrow the search for OBL. I mean by GOD MAN ITS AN ELECTION YEAR!!

June 11, 2012 at 22:03 | Unregistered CommenterThomas Miller

Funny thing is. When Obama was running for President he said that if he had a shot to take out Bin Laden in Pakistan, he would do so without hesitation and without letting Pakistan know. All of the right wingers fell to their fainting couches with squeals of shock.

When Obama was President he had a chance to take out Bin Laden in Pakistan and he did so exactly as he said he would and right wingers are again on their fainting couches with squeals of 'Why ofcourse anybody would have done that!'

Hell, if Dubya had actually gotten Bin Laden, you all would have wanted his face on Mt. Rushmore.

This isn't really any much fun anymore. It's not a rational debate of what is best for the country, it's just an irrational need to tear down anybody to the left of Pat Robertson.

I think I should just follow Winston and call you guys stupid and racist and leave it at that.

Ruh roh. Obama must feel like the walls are closing in.

Democrat pollster Pat Caddell accuses top Obama official Tom Donilon (a political hatchet man, inexplicably serving as national security advisor) of being the national security leak.

Now remember, since Tom Donilon is whiter than Pat Caddell, racism is not at work here.

Kwawk;

It's only you and probably Winston who think if Bush had killed OBL while he was still in office he would have done the end-zone dance/narcissistic "it's all about me" shit we get from Obama. Btw, nice retreat to the lowest common denominator and going for the “racist" remark. It really fortified your point.

June 12, 2012 at 09:39 | Unregistered CommenterThomas Miller

kwAwk, we're talking about people who are deeply and unabashedly white supremacists, who believe racism is only perpetrated by black people against whites, who think teachers, cops, and garbagemen are overpaid while hedge fund managers, corporate raiders and socialite heiresses are overtaxed. They regard sexually active women as sluts and show no embarrassment making statements that are not intended to be factual. They call the President a liar on the Senate floor in joint session. They're eager to find excuses to murder an unarmed teenager for being in the wrong neighborhood. In unguarded moments they cheer torture and executions, and will tell you uninsured people should just die, rape victims must be forced to bear their rapists' babies and birth control is sinful.

They demand others show extravagant deference to their most grotesque falsehoods and nonsense and treat everyone who disagrees with withering, sneering contempt and viciousness.

They are hateful, cruel, proud-to-be-stupid bigots who are beneath contempt. It beats me why any self-respecting adult would treat having their "respect" as anything but a mark of shame.

June 12, 2012 at 10:15 | Unregistered CommenterThomas Miller

Hey skwawk, just for the record, I give "the one" very high marks for his willingness to "keel, keel, keel," going back to his first order to "keel" those kidnapper terrorists early in on in his tenure. Does that mean that I'm NOT a racist. Please tell me it does, I'm trying so hard to satisfy you leftists. :-) But his killing and the way he does it is antithetical to everything you leftists claim to stand for. GW doing the same thing would be unconscionable and you'd be talking impeachment. So give us a break on the racists 'too stupid to debate' remark.

Beyond his willingness to "keel" however, I give him nothing but marks of failure. Whether it be the economy/jobs or domestic (blacks vs whites, rich vs poor, division where ever he can create it) and foreign relations. According to you and windy that makes me a racist because "the one" happens to be black. Stupid is as stupid does and the rational behind your (both of you) charges of racism are pretty damned stewpid. If anyone is not worthy of debate it is you two. Yet we continue to pander to your stupid remarks anyway. That may be the only thing we do that could be considered stupid. That much I will admit to.

It's gotten so bad for the Obama WH that reliable talking points paper boy Dana Milbank at the WashPo is calling the WH a "wreck." From intelligence leaks, to an electoral slap in the face, to economic blunders left n' right to your Commerce Sec going on a demolition derby run in downtown L.A. supposedly due to a hic-up, hic-up 'seizure.' I would say "wreck" is putting it mildly. As I write this I'm sure Barry is out on the golf course oblivious to it all day dreaming of the NBA championship starting tomorrow night.

Red - Sorry, but the killing of Osama Bin Laden should be something that we as Americans are proud of and we should be proud of our President for having the guts to have made the call to send in Seal Team 6 to do the job. Instead you guys do nothing but heap ridicule on the man. It's irrationality at it's worst.

What you guys are doing is a combination of Limbaugh's never admit you're wrong and never admit the opposition is right word play and Rove's political strategy of attacking you're opponents strenghts through any means necessary. It's contemptable.

Is anybody here not happy OBL is dead? Is anybody here not happy BHO had him killed? The give the man his due.

Skinny, TJ and TM - You are the one's who choose the racist title. I left open options. Racist or stupid.

Winston - What can I say. I have no arguements left.

June 12, 2012 at 12:20 | Registered Commenterkwawk

KwAwk, you're missing the point entirely. Of course getting bin Laden was a great thing. No one is arguing that point. The issue is the leaks and the bragging done for political reasons, at the expense of national security.

June 12, 2012 at 12:55 | Unregistered CommenterRedBeard

Well Red, it's the template of the times... when stating what noobs this president and his administration are, we have no choice but to hear how great it was that Barack Obama found time out of his busy golf day to thrown on his superman cape and go take out Osama Bin Laden all by himself.

"Yeah, sure smuggling guns into Mexico and putting the lives of citizens on both side of the border in jeopardy for political reasons would be wrong... but not if its done by the people that killed Osama Bin Laden!
Only a racist or an idiot would accuse such a person of being wrong on anything. "

Common sense: MIA since 2008

Oh, this is rich, with Winston talking about enmity.

June 12, 2012 at 13:42 | Unregistered CommenterRedBeard

Red - Reread Skinny and TM's post if you think nobody is questioning whether anybody thinks Obama's call to take out Bin Laden was a good thing. Apparently it was a good thing for everybody involved except for the guy that actually gave the order to do it. Which is really bizarre coming from people who think CEOs making $200MM a year is a good thing because of, you know, they're the ones who are making all of the decisions.

Are there leaks coming out of the Obama administration? Yep. I can see your point I guess. Never once was there ever a leak in the administrations of either of the Bushes. And Reagan he had a leak once, but rumor is he flew Marine One straight to Langley himself and personally executed the offender.

All sarcasm aside let me ask you a question Red. Why is it when after so many times it has been demonstrated that the right wing media in this country distorts the facts, distorts history, distorts economics, distort reality in order to get you guys to believe things which simply just aren't true do you keep running back to those same sources of information and treating all that they say like gospel?

Seriously, if CNN or the New York Times or the Washington Post or any news source had let me down so many times I'd find new ways to get my information. But people on the right don't. Why is that?

June 12, 2012 at 13:46 | Registered Commenterkwawk

Pat Caddell is a prominent DEMOCRAT, not a right-winger. He fingered Tom Donilon as the top-level White House leaker.

June 12, 2012 at 14:01 | Unregistered CommenterRedBeard

It's only you and probably Winston who think if Bush had killed OBL while he was still in office he would have done the end-zone dance/narcissistic "it's all about me" shit we get from Obama.

Good Lord, man, do you lack the tiniest molecule of self-awareness? Just kwAwk, me and everyone on the deck of the USS Abraham Lincoln.

If Catastrophe That Walks On Two Legs had killed Osama bin Laden, Nooshans would have already declared an annual national holiday, named a length of highway and three airports after him, and engraved his smirking mug on an article of currency. Anyone who questioned any of it would be a treasonous traitor begging for a punch in the face.

It's only you and probably Winston who think if Bush had killed OBL he would have done the end-zone dance
Christ what an self-oblivious asshole. Because Catastrophe On Two Legs was our most humble president ever. Shoot me now, willya? There’s no bottom to their absurd projections, persecution fantasies, and manufactured grievances.

I think kwAwk raises the twelve million dollar question. What kind of people PREFER being misled and misinformed and getting anti-news that leaves them stupider than they were when they turned it on?

It's a serious question.

June 12, 2012 at 14:08 | Registered CommenterWinston

Red -- Who identified the leaker is beside the point. BTW nobody has gone after leakers more than Obama. Obama notoriously hates leaks. Please Google Bradley Manning.

In any case Red, this topic is fairly indicative of how things work nowadays. Since the Limbaugh age began with the election of Bill Clinton in 1994, any democrat elected to office is held by the right wing media machine to the highest imaginable standard on every issue from ethics, to patriotism, to balance budgets right down to table manners.

Right wing media remains ever vigilent looking for even the slightest faux pas in order to show how the Democratic President is lacking in this manner or that manner, and continues to throw temper tantrum after temper tantrum until the MSM picks up on each and every story they dredge up, insisting that slight mistakes prove that the President isn't up to the job.

Yet, Sarah Palin can say something mind bogglingly stupid, such as how Paul Revere rode his mid-night ride to warn the Brittish not to take our guns away, and she is hailed as a shining star leader of the new right.

Again, Red, why is that? Why does the right celebrate misinformation and ignorance?

June 12, 2012 at 14:11 | Registered Commenterkwawk

Please, RB. Fox runs a turd factory somewhere where it generates wankers the wingers love to call "Democrats" who can be relied upon to bash actual Democrats. Pat Caddell’s one of them.

It's probably the flip side of misidentifying as (D) GOP slimeballs embroiled in scandals, something they've done far too consistently and too many times for it to be unintentional error. You have to conclude that's what their their audiences want--to be dumb 'n' riled up. At some level they even know this, making the stupid v. evil question ultimately meaningless.

"I think I should just follow Winston and call you guys stupid and racist and leave it at that."

kwawk, how's that reading comprehension of your own post? It wasn't racist or stupid. It was "racist and stupid." As I wrote, lowest common denominator.

June 12, 2012 at 14:41 | Unregistered CommenterThomas Miller

I forgot to mention, this hyper-vigilence to make sure that a Democratic President is perfect in every way completely took a hiatus during the 8 years of the Bush administration.

George W. Bush started an 8 year long war which killed tens of thousands based upon false pretenses and created a network of detention/torture camps around the globe and the right went Rah! Rah! Rah!

Obama's Justice Deptartment runs one fairly stupid gun running sting and Republicans want the entire Obama administration thrown in jail.

Why do you hold Democratic Presidents to so much of a higher standard than Republcian Presidents?

June 12, 2012 at 14:42 | Registered Commenterkwawk

June 12, 2012 at 14:44 | Unregistered CommenterThomas Miller

TM - You're the one who comes on here trumpeting every right wing carand of the day from right wing media. Your information has been proven wrong so many times you make a broken clock look good by comparison, yet you obviously continuously keep going back to those same sources. Why is that?

And you can degrade MSNBC all you want but at least Rachel Maddow has a regular segment on her show where she owns up to and corrects her mistakes. Please let me know when I can turn into Hannity or Limbaugh and see them do this.

June 12, 2012 at 14:49 | Registered Commenterkwawk

kwAwk from one of my "right-wing" sources. LOL.

From Buzzfeed;

“Clintonites Hit The Panic Button For Obama. Carville, Greenberg, Penn, and Schoen all say the re-elect is off course.”

Some democrats see a sinking ship and won’t be the last rats on-board. As for Rachel; who even knew she makes mistakes? She wears her smart glasses and just by that projection the inference is that she's the second smartest 'womyn' in the world second to Hillary of course.

June 12, 2012 at 14:56 | Unregistered CommenterThomas Miller

TM - Nice avoidance of the question there. Are you trying to say that Limbaugh and Hannity don't bother to correct their mistakes on air? That perhaps Maddow has a bit more integrity than either of those two guys?

In any case, yeah, when Obama can give a press conference to talk about jobs, saying that unemployment would be one full percentage point lower than it is now if we'd kept public sector employment stead in the past couple of years and all that comes out the other side is "OBAMA SAID PRIVATE SECTOR IS DOING FINE" then it's pretty clear that the press is in horserace mode and not thinking of seriously about the governance of the country.

Jeesh man, I was being sarcastic throughout pretty much the entire comment, but the actual CONTEXT of what I said was about you liberals calling (yet again) for the "Obama killed Osama" play anytime your guy is attacked and you can't defend him. It was actually more of an insult towards you and liberals alike than it was towards President Wekilledosama.

Nobody has questioned whether it was a good thing or not, we're only mocking how many times you guys talk about it when corned on other issues and how many times he's gone out and hyped up the crowds with his own "mission accomplished" moment(s).

Kwawk;

To answer your question, I believe so, I believe so and no fucking way. As for public sector employment. The states have this constitutional duty to balance their budgets unlike the feds and therefore layoffs are part of the process. I know it's sacrilegious to shit-can the lady at the DMV to balance budgets but it has to be done. As for the Feds and public sector employment, it's up 11% since 2008. So I suppose in Obama bizarro-world he would like it up 50% and it's up only 11% which makes that a cut of 39%.

As for the above figures, I'm "95%" sure their correct.

“President Barack Obama is rapidly losing support among African-American voters in North Carolina, a new poll out today from the Democratic-leaning Public Policy Polling shows.”

June 12, 2012 at 16:16 | Unregistered CommenterThomas Miller

TM - You can't reasonably make the argument that Obama is a horrible President because unemployment is high and the economy stinks while at the same time saying, laying people off and increasing the unemployment rate is a good thing that has to be done.

In any case:

Who is losing these local government jobs? In 1981 it was mostly teachers. Now, the losses are shared by teachers and other local government workers alike.

State government is much less important than local because it is a much smaller share of total nonfarm employment: 4 percent versus 10 percent. Nevertheless, a similar story can be told there. This far into each recession since 1955, state government employment had grown. Since the start of the latest recession, state government employment is still down 1.2 percent.

Without this hidden austerity program, the economy would look very different. If state and local governments had followed the pattern of the previous two recessions, they would have added 1.4 million to 1.9 million jobs and overall unemployment would be 7.0 to 7.3 percent instead of 8.2 percent.

http://economix.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/06/11/americas-hidden-austerity-program/

I wonder what Obama's re-election chances would be right now if unemployment was at 7%. We'd be talking about the Obama miricle wouldn't we?

The point is that the right is insisting on an auterity program that simply isn't working and refuses to re-evaluate their beliefs to bring them in line with reality.

kwawk;

High unemployment is not a good thing and nobody is saying that it is. If you have to balance a budget at times it's necessary to lay people off. It's done in the private sector daily but for some reason its death Armageddon to propose it for the government sector. No president has been re-elected with an unemployment rate above 7% or is it 8%? In the spirit of Rachel Maddow I'll say I'm not sure and wait to be corrected. As for Obama's re-election hopes. If the unemployment rate was 1% it would be no better than 50-50. He looks incompetent, arrogant and ignorant. And to paraphrase Dean Wormer "that's no way to go through life as a President."

June 12, 2012 at 16:37 | Unregistered CommenterThomas Miller

TM - You've forgotten the other half of the equation. People get hired in the private sector every day too. In fact the private sector is at a net gain of jobs for the past two years in the millions. Is that Limbaugh's great master plan? To keep the unemployment rate artificially high to in order to get Obama out of office?

Actually you are saying that increasing unemployment is a good thing if you're arguing that the Federal Government shouldn't help state and local government stench the bleeding of jobs.

It is your opinion that Obama looks incompetant, arrogant and ignorant. But that is a change of topic isn't it?
