UPDATED: Donald's "Big Announcement" ...Actually a Challenge to Obama

One that could land the charity of his choice a check for $5,000,000.00

The news has led to a very new, unique Twitter trend though...   I always like that.

Previously on the BL Rag:

7:22 am - What Will the "Big" Donald Trump Announcement Be?

So he's got an announcement scheduled for this morning... "October Surprise".... "Game Changer"... Blah blah.     All I'm saying for now is if it's THIS, I'm going to be pretty "dissappointed" (code for incredibly irate), considering he hasn't any room to be criticizing anybody over divorce(s).

Only thing he's said is that it isn't related to the newest cocaine dealing accusations.   I figured that was the case originally, considering the idiot claiming it was holding out for a book deal, but sees it as too late in the political season to score one now... the next "logical" choice seemed like running to Donald Trump.

If it's news worth updating this thread over, I will... if it's not, we'll just spend all day making fun of Donald Trump.   I see that as a "win-win".

Trump probably has hard evidence that Obama is actually a pod person from another galaxy.

And don't let me catch anyone making fun of The Donald's hair. It's the finest mane that money can buy. Critics are just jealous.

I think they should put Donald Trump and Gloria Allred into a cage with a single microphone and let them battle to the death.

Lol, at one time Donald Trump was the leading presidential candiate for the Republican party in 2012. Too funny.

I seem to recall Rev. Al being a "strong" candidate for the dems in prior Presidential elections. At least Trump never got anyone killed due to his reckless behavior.

Aha! So it's a dare, then.

This could be fun. As much as I dislike the walking ego named Trump, I hope this plays out very publicly.

Does anybody know if a presidential visit (Obama's in town) would have anything to do with phones throughout the Quad Cities being in disarray? We've been having issues all day on both land lines and cell phones trying to call... well, anybody.

I was calling a list of heavy towing services today and couldn't connect to any of them (tried over a dozen), then switched to my cell phone and still had no luck. A couple times I actually got connected to a health clinic, some random lady trying to call another person, and my boss tried calling a foreman and got a message system with Obama for America (lol).

I don't know if the last was a coincidence, or if the timing is just a coincidence, but it's been very weird here in the Quad Cities today.... and it's been eerily quiet in the office (phones are generally ringing off the hook).

So... how will Obama and his minnions deflect this? Doubtful he will comply, so how does he defend himself when people ask why he is denying charity such a pile of dough?

Impact of Trump bombshell dwarfs even the seismic impact of Hug-Gate. Or Black-Accent-Gate.

I understand the Whitey Tape is now available, though.

Isn't Trump supposed to be a billionare? 'Cause he's being awfully cheap with this. How about $100 million?

October 24, 2012 at 14:00 | Registered Commenterkwawk

I'm really glad Trump did this.

Every so often it's worthwhile reflecting what a vast gulf now yawns between the concerns and preoccupations of wingnuts and the concerns and preoccupations of normal people who do not suffer from mental illness.

October 24, 2012 at 14:19 | Unregistered CommenterWinston

Heh. I asked how the minnions would try to deflect, and KwAwk and Winston explained.

Isn't Trump supposed to be a billionare? 'Cause he's being awfully cheap with this. How about $100 million?

It's the same as a 15% down payment for his new Hawaiian mansion of O's.
That's a pretty significant chunk of change for doing nothing.
(everything is legit, right? Obama has everything to gain)

Heck... I'll show Trump all mine for a new PlayStation Ultra Slim.

October 24, 2012 at 14:24 | Registered Commenterskinnydipinacid

My suggestion to Trump would have been to make the $5 mil donation to Planned Parenthood. That way when Barry clams up again about his background and denies PP the cash donation we could all accuse him of conducting a "War on Women" because we all know Planned Parenthood is out there working hard giving "mammograms" to women.

October 24, 2012 at 15:06 | Unregistered CommenterThomas Miller

LOL, I love that offer. This should be interesting indeed. Uh, Mr. Carney what is the precedents response of 5 mil to any charity of his choice if..........? Uh, the precedent is too busy making up lies about his record and the Benghazi debacle to give any time to this frivolous and ridiculous offer by Mr. Trump. Uh, Mr. Carney, did you say frivolous and ridiculous...?

October 24, 2012 at 15:12 | Registered CommenterTijuana

Heh. I asked how the minnions would try to deflect, and KwAwk and Winston explained.

What's to deflect? Yesterday? Nobody cared about Obama's college transcripts. Today? Nobody cares about Obama's college transcripts.

I'm just saying, Trump should put some real skin in the game! Look at all the dough Sheldon Adelson has put in to try to get Obama out of office. He's making the trumpster look like a lightweight wannabe.

October 24, 2012 at 15:38 | Registered Commenterkwawk

Actually people have for years... over time the yells became quieter.

To assume "nobody cared" is a flat out lie, either to us or yourself... pick one.

October 24, 2012 at 15:51 | Registered Commenterskinnydipinacid

I suppose if you take the word nobody literally then surely what I've said is incorrect. But if you take it figuratively as it was intended then it's not a lie.

Michelle Malkin cares.
Erick Erickson cares.
Glenn Beck cares.
Sean Hannity cares.
Rush Limbaugh cares.
Laura Ingram cares.

People who aren't them, or aren't influenced by them? Not so much.

I have to admire your tenacity though. If our side was as good at making up conspiracies as your side we would have figured out by now that the reason Mitt Romney refuses to release his tax returns is that during those years Mitt was pretty hard up for money and Ann Romney supported the whole family as a fabulously successful international call girl.

October 24, 2012 at 16:38 | Registered Commenterkwawk

As to Skinny's 13:34 about disruption to phones and such, there are some unsubstantiated rumors that an unusual looking aircraft was seen flying over the Cities of Quad, it appeared to have some sort of "O" logo on it.

It might have looked like this.

Warning for the clueless left-minded: "The information above is combined logically as to timing, but is intended as a joke."

Hey, Obama! Now's your chance to show up that pompous windbag Trump. Go ahead; call his bluff. Release the documents, take the 5 million bucks, make a huge deal out of giving it to your favorite charity. The media will be all over the charity angle, and you'll come out smelling like a rose. Go on, Big Guy. Do it.

Don't do it Obama. Now is a good time to practice some good hard negotiations. $100 million and not a penny less. You've got something the Donald wants. Use it to extract as much as you can! The reason the Donald doesn't put up $100 million? Because he doesn't have it! He's an old school carney trying to convince the world he's richer than he is!

October 25, 2012 at 10:16 | Registered Commenterkwawk

Obama might do it for 500 million smackers, payable to him personally, knowing that all that dough would offset the damage the documentation would cause. I'm sure he has a price.

October 25, 2012 at 11:54 | Unregistered CommenterRedBeard

I dunno... I'm not sure Obama grasps big numbers...
... best to keep it simple at $5,000,000.00

That being said (and laughed over), there's no way he'd take the deal even at $100,000,000.00 if there was anything damaging to be released. Like I've said for more than 4 years now, if there was something damning that proved Democrats didn't or improperly vetted him, ignored what knowledge they had on him, blew off and belittled those with suspicions of his legitimacy... yet still propped him up as a Presidential candidate, it would be the death knell of the Democrat Party (at least for generations). Considering how much money was spent in just this campaign alone.... is $100 million even worth all that?

DNC would be like... "look Barky, we can't let you release these docs... we're wiling to entirely pay for your multi-million dollar Oahu mansion through a blind trust, all you have to do is keep your mouth shut and stay on teleprompter for the rest of your boring life... think you can handle that without embarrassing yourself and f@#%ing things up for us in the process, you miserable SCoaMF?"

Maybe not quite like that, but you get the picture.

Skinny -- That is kind of the point. The offer of $5 million is so ridiculous that Obama would never take it. It's an offer with no balls. It's like Mitt Romney's $10,000 bet. A man making $20 million a year offering to make a $10,000 bet is fairly weak tea. I'm sure it gets good chuckles at the country club, but everybody else is like 'Ohhhh big spender!'. Not to mention that the $10,000 bet Romney offered was to Rick Perry who Romney knows is worth a small fraction of what he is worth. It was petty bullying.

It's like me making a guarantee that the Lions will win the Superbowl this year and then backing it up with an open bet of $2.

I'll post more in the morning about this whole issue. I think I'm beginning to understand why you guys are so emotionally invested in trying to destroy Obama. You gave it away in your post.

October 26, 2012 at 01:18 | Registered Commenterkwawk

The notion that $5,000,000.00 is chicken feed would be a bizarre concept to any charity fundraiser. But go ahead; keep trying to spin this into something not damaging to The One. The rest of us will continue to see that The Lightbringer fails either way. If he releases his records, his carefully guarded secrets (whatever they are) will be exposed. And if he continues to stonewall about his past, then he has a duty to explain why his personal agenda has cost his own favorite charities $5,000,000.00.

But I understand. You lefties have invested everything you have in this great phony jerk Obama, and it's too late for you to disengage. If he wins the election, good luck in defending his actions over the next 4 years. You only think the criticisms have been harsh during his first term. The golden armor is gone. Even his allies are despondent over the smallness of the man.

October 26, 2012 at 06:51 | Unregistered CommenterRedBeard

A good Christian man would give 10% of his wealth to charity. This is a chance to give $5,000,000 to a charity. This isn't about Donald Trump being a "cheap" at all and the attempt to spin in at such is so absurd I don't even think you comprehend its absurdity. Trump gives boatloads to charity, personally and through his show Celebrity Apprentice.

Look at all the money Romney has given to charity, per his tax returns (which liberals still claim he didn't release). To question his generosity would be equally desperate.

Now, what's Obama given to charity over the years?
(and you call $5 MILLION cheap? Ha ha ha)

This is damaging on multiple fronts Kwawk. Not only are Democrats looking desperate, shuffling to scrutinize Trumps offer as cheap, but they are starting to question themselves in the process. What do they know about Obama? Why did they vote for him? Can he be trusted if something this simple, this easy, FOR CHARITY cannot be fulfilled due to his shady and incredibly secret past?

Oh no, my "last post" didn't "give it away"... I've said since 2006 when they began propping him up to run that unanswered questions concerning his legitimacy would be damaging to the party if indeed they came out (then or later) that they'd covered anything up that would have hindered his candidacy. I called it the death of the Democrat Party before he was elected. That's not hoping for the death of their party or the end to Obama, that's trying to open eyes and hope they and their followers are smart enough to pry into things that could damage themselves forever. It was more of a helpful suggestion to you Dems, which you all chose to ignore due to your thirst for power.

If in the end, even after Obama is out of office, and this plays out bad for Democrats... it will destroy your party. What I did years ago was look at somebody (Dems) cutting their wrist and tried telling them they have so much to live for and that they didn't have to do that... there are better ways. What Democrats did was hide the razor under the toilet bowl lid and waited until later when nobody was looking. Either way it would play out as party suicide.

October 26, 2012 at 09:15 | Registered Commenterskinnydipinacid

Skinny - The only person on here questioning whether Obama should take the Trumpster's phoney offer is you. Nobody else cares. In fact in the world outside of the right wing bubble it was instantly dismissed as a one day racist and pathetic publicity stunt.

Which brings me to what I said I was going to talk about last night. The great perplexing question that a lot of people have who pay attention to politics is why is it that a party that worships Ronald Reagan has gone so far to the right that their hero Ronald Reagan wouldn't be considered pure enough to be their candate anymore?

I think that is because when people tend to think of Republican's affection for Reagan they think of St. Ronnie Patron Saint of Conservatism. But this isn't true. The real affection is for Ronald Wilson Reagan as Christ the Redeemer of the Republican Party.

You see there are only two political figures of the past 50 years who would qualify as having been so bad in their execution of their office that they'e qualify for your declaration of having should have shamed their parties for decades. Richard Nixon and George W. Bush.

In 1968 your side elected Richard Nixon a paradoid figure who self destruted in office. Elongated an unpopular war to enpower himself and became so paranoid that he threw the Constitution aside in his efforts at self-preservation and help to destroy a country's confidence in itself. In response to this this a disorganized Democratic Party elected Jimmy Carter who had to spend his Presidency cleaning up after the Nixon years. In response to the chaotic times four years later Ronald Reagan came in presided over a nation emerging from the chaos of the 1970s thus rehabilitating the party.

Yet, in 2000 George W. Bush sneaked into office in a complacent and prosperous country and was yet again governed so poorly that he should have disqualified the Republican Party from holding the Presidency for a long period of time. But instead of finding a weak and disorganized democratic party, this time Republicans found a strong and organized Democratic Party, so they couldn't depend on allowing the normal course of events to rehabilitate themselves. Instead Republicans were forced to intentionally tank the economy, spending four years creating fear and chaos in order to create doubt in the American people.

Hence all of the Jimmy Carter references from day one of the Obama Presidency. You needed Obama to be Carter in order to make up for the evils you knew you have inflicted on our society through the Bush Presidency. You're looking to Mitt Romney as your second redeemer so that you don't have to admit that you screwed up.

It's that space where machismo is used as a cover for cowardice.

October 26, 2012 at 13:37 | Registered Commenterkwawk

Let us take this angle a bit further and look at this amazingly courageous stand by Republicans like Murdock on abortion (/sarcasm).

It's so courageous to tell a woman who has been raped that the resulting baby is a gift from God, when in fact you know for sure that it has no possibility of ever happening to them. Wow! Such courage!

And amazing isn't it, that the theory seems to be that there is this invisible man living in the sky who finds it humorous to torture women by having them be raped and violently assaulted and then and then further them torture by making them carry that mans baby for nine months, just to force the woman to prove how loyal and obedient she is to the invisible man.

On earth we would call that mentally ill. But you call that God.

did you really trot out the racism thing AGAIN just then? Racism? On what basis, pray tell? Please, explain the bigotry angle of all this.

It’s funny how Nooshanz ™ cling to this persistent delusion their bigotry isn’t transparent and obvious as hell. In reality, normal non-mentally-ill people view it as a settled issue.

Nooshanz™ are forever wanting to re-litigate it or treat it as “controversial” or “unproven” or “only unfairly suspected” or “it wasn’t a black thing it was an X thing” or “how can you know what’s in my heart.”

Sorry, Redneck, it’s a non-issue. The Right’s nutty level of way-over-the-top contempt and homicidal rage and hatred for this rather moderate center-left President goes beyond any decent bounds. It comes from wounded white man’s privilege.

Now, I’m personally old enough to remember when decent and principled people on the Right used to recognize the importance of disowning and distancing themselves from such disgusting sentiments but at some point they consciously decided it was more important keeping the vile racists on board than earning any support from blacks or decent white people.

And that’s fine. Make your choices, live with them. No one’s holding guns to your heads. Only quit whining, you harvest what you reap. If the choice you make every day when you get out of bed is to act like a hateful toothless hillbilly bigot, know that your kind is dying out and, thankfully, quickly.

You can't for four years decry the President for his foreign policy decisions and then two weeks before an election change everything and not expect me to notice or to not think that you're jsut a bunch of weasels who hide behind princple until principle become inconvenient in winning an election you know you have no business winning!
