Obama Takes Offensive Action Against Iran

GUARDIAN

After failing to successfully negotiate with Iran, the Obama administration has dispatched patriot missiles to the Gulf to protect our Arab allies against an attack from Iran. A departure from his earlier stance in his presidency.

The US is dispatching Patriot defensive missiles to four countries – Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Kuwait – and keeping two ships in the Gulf capable of shooting down Iranian missiles. Washington is also helping Saudi Arabia develop a force to protect its oil installations.

The U.S. is also attempting to curtail any strike on Iran by Israel. Israel has previously made statements to the effect that if Obama didn't reign in Iran, Israel would.

Obama sent a video to Iran last year, which contents smacked of the naive Rodney King philosophy of, "Can't we all get along."

Former President George W. Bush had already begun building up a U.S. presence in the region prior to Obama's election.

I remember unbelievably some naive Obama statement that if Iran will open its fist to receive our hand or something we can all get along. Since then, they've shot off intercontinental missiles, taken American prisoners, threatened Israel again with annihilation and continue to develop nukes in violation of the libs beloved UN proclamations. Certainly history will record the first few weeks of the Obama administration foreign policy initiatives as the most naive in American history.

Kudos to Obama for finally understanding that when Iran says "No", they mean it.

Not another "war monger" in the WH. What does he think he is, another cowboy in the vein of George Bush. I thought this guy was going to bring peace to the world through diplomacy and negotiations. Liar liar pants on fiar.

Now this on top of all those innocents he's been killing via drones. Ward Churchill where are you?

It isn't a departure at all, actually. He has said, all along, that Iran must curtail its activities. The difference is that, instead of attempting to ostracize them for years, he tried diplomacy first. The fact that diplomacy failed does not cast a poor light on the attempt. They didn't play ball, and he's switching from carrot to stick. Nothing wrong with that at all, and I'm glad that diplomacy was attempted. It's an important thing for the rest of the world to see us try to "get along" instead of going straight to military options.

Wes;

Yeah that's right, Obama is the first to try diplomacy with Iran. LOL.

"The difference is that, instead of attempting to ostracize them for years, he tried diplomacy first."

Although Bush wisely didn't attempt direct negotiations with Iran, I seem to recall his administration using diplomacy though the UN and our European allies to curtail Iran's nuclear ambitions.

"It's an important thing for the rest of the world to see us try to "get along" instead of going straight to military options."

What the world has seen is just how hopelessly naive and egotistical our President is.
