Al Gore Compares the Fight Against Climate Change to the Fight Against the Nazis
I was confused by this story, because I always likened the green movement to that of 1940 Germany. Little did I know that Al Gore was feeling like Poland in his climate movement. You'd never get that by viewing his income and checking his private jet's flight schedule.
With these kind of exaggerated Nazi-comments, is it getting any harder for the left to wholeheartedly believe in Al "Władysław Raczkiewicz" Gore? I highly doubt it.
Al Gore today compared the battle against climate change with the struggle against the Nazis.
The former US Vice President said the world lacked the political will to act and invoked the spirit of Winston Churchill by encouraging leaders to unite their nations to fight climate change.
He also accused politicians around the world of exploiting ignorance about the dangers of global warming to avoid difficult decisions.
Speaking in Oxford at the Smith School World Forum on Enterprise and the Environment, sponsored by The Times, Mr Gore said: “Winston Churchill aroused this nation in heroic fashion to save civilisation in World War II.”
He added: “We have everything we need except political will but political will is a renewable resource.”
Mr Gore admitted that it was difficult to persuade the public that the threat from climate change was as urgent as the threat from Nazi Germany.
True, blatant ignorance. One so unwilling to listen, much less debate those who hold differing opinions, yet there he is comparing those who oppose him to Nazis.. as if we who oppose him are the ones trying to push our ideals on others via documentaries.
I have to ask, how do we who disagree with Al Raczkiewicz benefit? Last I checked, my stock options don't profit from my intentions in debates, but then again my stock options don't compare to Al's. Certainly we on the right don't become rich men, speaking from college to college, spewing out carbon from our mouth and private jets, belittling those who differ by calling them Nazis. (What is it with the left and their Nazi-comparison fetish. Is it clinical?) Maybe we can't get the star-studded celebrity power to fly all over the globe for "green" benefit concerts in hopes of indoctrinating the youth of the world into believing... but Al Gore sure can.
If he spent have as much time debating as he does promoting, maybe he'd have the slightest form of credibility. However he doesn't, and he merely comes off sounding like a washed up politician who's concerns show more for himself and his ideals than it does the greater good of humanity... but hey, that's just my honest take.
You give it a whirl...

Al Gore, the supreme leader of the 'Useful Idiots Movement' strikes again. This guy has a screw loose. He's a borderline truther, 100% hyprocrite and liar.
and to think.... he almost became our 43rd president... almost
Follow the money! What cap and trade is really all about! (Compiled by a fellow truck driver!)
http://www.rollye.net/BlogArchivesCapTrade709.html
"I think this will unambiguously be the largest non-financial commodity in the world. If you consider worldwide emissions, the Europeans are 2 billion (tons), the proposed Waxman-Markey bill will be 3 times Europe at 6 billion tons of coverage. Canada, Australia, ultimately China and India, we’re talking about a worldwide crop of call it 30-35 billion tons, at $20 a ton, which would make it $700 billion, and commodities markets trade 10 to 20 times the crop, so I believe it’s a market that would be $10 Trillion a year."
Somebody's going to get rich. And it does little to reduce pollution!
Here's Sheldon Whitehouse joking about his fellow "science is a hoax" Senators from across the aisle today:
And yeah, climate change is actually far more dangerous than the Nazi's. The Nazi's just wanted to enslave the world and racially purify it. Climate change will make the planet uninhabitable for ALL people. If we don't drastically change our ways before it's too late, their will be nothing left for people to bicker about.
By the way, so far just this year, ExxonMobile has spent $9.3 million lobbying Congress against doing anything to preserve our environment.
Yeah, last I heard, ExxonMobile was out to destroy the planet and they've bought up all the planetary space elswhere in the universe for their kids and grandkids so thay's nothin left for us peons. It's the "evil" plan of the oil companies to kill us all. They hate regualr people. you know.
I see one AL GORE's respondo' bots came to his defense.
BTW, we are having some of the coolest, most beautiful weather I've ever experienced here in NC this summer. But then I hear things always get much better, just before THE END!
Considering that $3.27 billion was spent on lobbying last year alone, your $9.3 million whimper sounds, again... to steal the words from a previous commentor... quite petty. They are under attack and have the money to spend, so they are. Do your honestly think groups on the left aren't doing the exact same thing, fighting for their causes?
The simple rhetoric in your comment proves my point. Instead of showing actual data and solid proof, we get more insults and comical grandstanding. I know that you think it makes your agenda look grander and so much smarter, but it really doesn't. It's sounds kindergartenish, given the recent history of how lobbying money tends to favor the Democrats.
But forget all that factual nonsense Egg.... you were saying?
Someone might wanna tell the Incredible Edible Liberal that just because a bunch of self-involved bullshit artists say we're all stupid doesn't make it so.
As for us brain-dead lemmings, I'd be happy if he showed some cajones and led by example - zero population growth.
HITLER HITLER HITLER HITLER!
That's not actually true, as I've tried explaining before, but you seem to prefer to wallow in your status as a victim. I know you're not stupid, but you do say very stupid things almost daily. This sentance is a perfect example. You think scientists are "self-involved bullshit artists"? Really?
How did science become the enemy of the Republican party? When did it become "elitist" to be educated, well read and informed? Why does anti-intellectualism appeal to right wingers? Creationism, intelligent design, climate change is a hoax, faith-based this, trust-your-gut that. There's never been a better time for the right to espouse, profit from, and believe in utter, unadulterated crap. And the crap is rising so high, it's getting scary.
This is how we end up with people like George W. Bush, James Inhofe, Rick Santorum, Sarah Palin and half of the Republican party. It kills me when I hear wingnut sycophants say how they love him/her because "he's a man of faith". What about reason? I won't be able to take the GOP seriously until they once again value rationality even at the expense of their political ambitions. It's just not rational to believe that the ever increasing levels of pollution our society creates isn't having an adverse effect on the environment.
Egg, you seem to mistake people like Al Gore as scientists. What do you say of the truly scientific naysayers on global warming? Those who (like me) predicted the temperatures to start dropping over time... due to Earth's cyclical nature. I in fact wholeheartedly believe in science... however your side tries to stretch the facts with little bits here, or tiny fluctuations there, never seeing the big picture. You libs won't even factor in the sun as a cause of warming. What's that say about your sides' hypotheses? There are so many possibilities, yet you libs want to just blame it all on man because you gain some political ground (or in Al Gore's case, better financial value)
When you become well educated while wearing horse blinders, you tend to miss the bigger picture, and the obvious seems to pass by unnoticed. Nobody knows for sure what the Earth's climate will be, and they can't prove it for certain without lying to you... but the left has bought in hook, line and sinker to this notion that it's purely man-made and there is no other possiblilty. That's just stupid. Even the most book-smart people can be moronic (I know, I'm friends with and related to many "highly educated" people who often don't know shit when it comes to real life issues).
Of course, they don't hate religion and Republicans the way you do...
... so maybe you're even smarter and more enlightened than they are.
(However, your blanket portrayal of christianity vs science makes me think otherwise)
Egg probably listens to the same weatherman who continuously gives the wrong forecast.
Great link windy,though,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,HITLER?
I wonder, were liberals brains inserted/formed backwards? Must be......
The opposite of everything (real) is true.
Science became the enemy of the Republican Party (or, more accurately, vice versa) when the wingnuts took over the Party insisting they were entitled to fabricate their own reality and declaring all-out war on anyone who dissented from their fabrications.
Eggman's “half of the Republican party” sounds about right to me. My experience tells me about half these folks genuinely subscribe to the GOP’s ostensible principles (fiscal probity, small government, continuity, custom, prudence, incremental change if any). However, the other half just live to give free rein to their various prejudices (religious/racial/gender/other), parade their ignorance, trumpet their entitlement, facilitate corruption, nepotism and greed, and indulge their bullying, fascist impulses by acting toward perceived “liberals” as provocative, insulting and offensive as humanly possible (then act the victim when their targets have had enough).
The GOP wants to be taken seriously. Yet it elevates and follows leaders as relentlessly dumbass as Inhofe, Palin, Pence, Coburn, Cornyn and Cantor, not to even bring up Rush, Sean, Glenn and the rest of the clown car gang. Well, snot gonna happen. As Mr. Gump puts it, simple is as simple does. Not all conservatives are dumb by any means—there’s quite a few smart ones here on this board—but you can count on most dumb people being conservatives.
Sorry, Tijuana, I think the point of that link was lost on you. Next time I'll try to make things a bit simpler so you can participate.
Skinnydip- You're consumed with Al Gore. Al Gore does not equal climate change. Al Gore is not a scientist, he's just one of the billions of people like me who are on the side of humanity and a clean environment. Right wingers have turned the cause of saving our planet into a partisan battle. Climate change is not a political football, or I should say - climate change is not a political issue to reasonable people. "Greening" our society is a matter of survival.
And by the way, there was a scientific "debate" many years ago but it's over. There is a worldwide consensus in the scientific community by an overwhelming margin that climate change is threat to our way of life. Even John McCain and G.W. Bush eventually came around and recognized the danger. But again this was years ago, and they were willing to do very little other than pay lipservice to the problem.
So anyway, put away your Al Gore hatred (or should we say GDS), he's not relevant to this discussion. You're attempts to conflate the issue by demonizing a political figure are weak and transparent. At this point we are talking about what to do about climate change. The GOP needs to decide if they are stuck back in the partisan battles of the 1990's or if they want to be part of the solution today?
Well, that's what some are talking about. There's a few still having some dumbass discussion about whether Al Gore personally uses indoor plumbing.
Or subsists on a diet of tree bark.
Unless sun spot activity picks up soon, climate will remain on the cool side throughout this year.
"Al Gore is not a scientist, he's just one of the billions of people like me who are on the side of humanity and a clean environment."
Al Gore is a con artist on the side of enriching himself from a world-wide scam. There is no global warming, and climate change is as natural on this planet as earthquakes and volcanos. If you and Al Gore are so keen on scratching out a pre-industrial existance, then shut up and start doing it all ready. Just don't tell me or the rest of the civilized world that we have to join you in that misery.

Gore eats a lot more than tree bark.
oops... sorry... I just killed the mood...
"Gore mangia molto più di corteccia di albero"
(ugh... i effing hate latin)
Age quod agis: purgamentum init, exit purgamentum.
Global Warming is a religion to the left held dear like a newborn. Tell them that the earth has been cooling since 1999 and they ram there grubby little fists in there ears and yell "NOT SO, NOT SO" five thousand times. Try to explain using scientific terms they so dearly claim is the alter of there movement that the main force for warming or cooling the earth is the sun and NOT CO2 and they stomp there little tiny feet in rage. It's ironic a political movement who so despises religion will clutch for dear life a sophistry so thin to make toilet paper look like steal.
Useful idiots indeed.
It's never really interested in me to get involved in the details of the "global-warming-is-a-massive-hoax" "debate." Although much of the time these people (the nutters) appear to actually get some sort of kick out of being regarded as members of the Flat Earth Society.
If the "nutters" are flat-earthers, what does that make a political movement that denies the sun is the largest contributor to heating/cooling of earth? Suggestions:
A). Head-Up-Ass-Movement
B). Head-Below-Ground-And-Still-Up-Ass-Movement
C). Idiots
All three are so appropriate.
Did I leave out Steven King? The other Steven King?
And Sylvia Allen?
Well, urine good company, Tom!
Yesterday, Skinnydip said:
Riiight Skinny. If you really value science, you guys might try asking your elected represenatives a science related question or two before you vote for them. Make it an easy one:
The Earth is 6,000 years old.
A. True
B. False
What percentage of Republican politicians would actually get the answer to this question right? I would guess about half, because after all there are only 2 choices.
Oh and shhh, don't tell Tom the answer, I want to see what he says without any help.
Bwahaha!!!
And we're commiting treason against the planet too!
funny Egg,
and for Democrats the question should be...
What is the primary cause of Global Warming?
A) Man
B) Man
C) Man or
D) Man, SUV's, evil oil companies, Dick Cheney and tyranical Republican flat earthers
That'll truly fill us in on which ones hate America...
... probably the same people that caused this ruckus.
Mach, next they'll be putting forth legislature to issue an official apology to the Earth for destroying her... like slavery. We've imprisoned poor mother nature and abused her like a $3 mule. i wonder if reparations are possible at this point?
I wonder, did George Bush know there were only 47 states?
"Did I leave out Steven King? The other Steven King?"
You wouldn't know a bigot if you were looking in the mirror windy.
I only posted this because I noticed no one else was paying any attention to you windy. Hope this helps. :)
Another obvious shot at Christianity, Eggbreath. As a Biblical student myself, I'm open enough to know that the Bible tells of a dateless past, (possibly gazillions of years) the ice age, the ozone layer, the theory of relativity and other scientific goodies. In fact Columbus believed the world was round because Isaiah said, "It is He that sits upon the circle of the earth."
All the really smart guys (scientists) back then said the earth was flat.
Didn't Uncle Al's family fortune come from Occidental Oil, one of the biggest polluters in the world?
Nope, not true my fundie friend. A shot a biblical literalists' like you - yes, Xianity in general, no.
You've made these ridiculous claims before and I've asked for citation, but you refused. Care to indulge me this time? I do find creationist joke-books like AnswersInGenesis.org hysterically funny.
As usual, you're wrong again. Were you homeschooled? No one in Columbus' day believed the Earth was flat.
The world is round and enveloped in atmosphere.
Isa. 40:22a It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:
The earth is suspended in space.
Job 26:7 “Hangs the earth on nothing..
Fountains of the deep, a 20th century discovery.
Gen. 7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.
Is Egg-man one of those libs who believed in the evolutionary hopeful-monster fairy tale? No wonder they can support Obama!
Speaking of science and Nazis, Obama's Science Czar once advocated that forced abortions and mass sterilization was needed to save the planet.
