Oh Iran... There You Go Again

Somedays its hard to take these people serious:

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,377626,00.html

A couple things.    First,  it may not be the best idea to have your religious clerics speaking for your country... just a thought.    Second,  I'd love to see them try to burn our naval vessels.   (Honestly...   these people must WANT a war!)

Iranian Guard official Ali Shirazi took the cake:

"The Zionist regime is pushing the White House to prepare for a military strike on Iran," Shirazi was quoted as saying. "If such a stupidity is done by them, Tel Aviv and the U.S. naval fleet in the Persian Gulf will be the first targets which will be set on fire in Iran's crushing response."

Way to go Iran,  you just figured out how to have every single weapons system of the United States aimed directly at you.    Not a simple task to accomplish.

Why do I get a vision here of the Black Knight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail?

It reminds me of the propaganda broadcasts of Radio Moscow/Peking/Pyongyang in the 1970s. (Yes, I listened to RFE/RL/VOA too!) The fact-free posturing, the gratuitous invective...if they'd just say "running-dog lackeys of the imperialist bourgeoisie" once in a while, the impersonation would be complete.

The left quickly put out a press release condemming the U.S and Israel for inflaming Iran to make these types of comments. You see, it's always America's or those string pulling puppeteers the Jews fault.
