RNC Accuses Bush of Going Socialist

From the Washington Times:

Republican Party officials say they will try next month to pass a resolution accusing President Bush and congressional Republican leaders of embracing "socialism," underscoring deep dissension within the party at the end of Mr. Bush's administration.

Those pushing the resolution, which will come before the Republican National Committee at its January meeting, say elected leaders need to be reminded of core principles. They said the RNC must take the dramatic step of wading into policy debates, which traditionally have been left to lawmakers.

"We can't be a party of small government, free markets and low taxes while supporting bailouts and nationalizing industries, which lead to big government, socialism and high taxes at the expense of individual liberty and freedoms," said Solomon Yue, an Oregon member and co-sponsor of a resolution that criticizes the U.S. government bailouts of the financial and auto industries.

It's an interesting move by the GOP.   They've obviously expressed their most recent decent at the bailout bills, and now their apparent disdain with Bush for going along with the solution that was favored more heavily by the Democrats.   So what say you?   Bush... a softie for socialism?

Bush isn't a socialist; he just plays one in the White House as he pushes for socialistic policies. I'm sure someone could make that distinction. And he hasn't stayed at a Holiday Inn lately, either.

RNC Accuses Bush of Going Socialist

And these guys are the same pussies that would not say the S-word about Obama, yet they slander their own President? These are the same guys who quiver at the feet of Liberal Weenies? **** them! And don't kiss 'em either. No more of my money and support for the RNC (Republican Neutered Committee?). I'll pick individual CONSERVATIVE candidates who stick to their principles and ain't scared of gettin' down in the mud, the blood and the beer. AMF, RNC!

NICE!

It seems to me the party could find a better outlet than this.

Well I can tell you everytime those "weenies" (as fish so appropriately calls them) solicited me by phone during this last election, they got an earful. They said they had been hearing that from all their calls. They knew they were'nt getting any money from me by the end of that conversation. So maybe they have gotten the message. But I agree with fish, that to start with their president when they won't stand up to the socialist party itself is kinda, well, lowlife? Maybe they should try changing their own stripes before going after an outbound president. Seems like more of an indication of just how STUPID the GOP is.

BTW, Does anybody happen to know who the oldest, most decrepit and colorless (not to mention stupid) person in the Pub party is, by any chance? Just wonderin who the next nominee will be in 2012?

I still believe that Dole, uh, I mean, McCane was getting kickbacks from the Hussein campaign. Had to be, nobody could be that blatantly stupid.

Even though, he DID win that third debate. They musta increased the kickback money right after that. LOL

While she doesn't make the grade for oldest, my vote for the most decrepit, colorless and stupid person in the Republican Party right now is Sarah 'I can see Russia from my house' Palin.

This article pretty much sums up the battle raging in the Republican Party right now, will this be a party or a radical ideology which must be adhered to at all times, or a party of pragmatic ideas which reflect the current situation. The former is a recipe for extinction the latter a recipe for rebirth of the Grand Old Party. I'm thinking the former is going to win. It is much easier to set forth an ideology and measure compliance with it than to perpetually think of new ideas to meet the changing needs of society.

Sometimes smaller government and less government is the answer. Sometimes its not. Sometimes bigger government and more government is the answer. Sometimes sitting back and letting the markets sort themselves out is the best solution, other times rolling up our sleves and working to put the markets in order is the best course of action.

Solutions must be tailored to the situation, the situation can't be tailored to the solution.

FishFearMe, welcome aboard - but kindly watch your language, OK? I like being able to read our blog with my kids in the room, and I've bleeped your post accordingly.

Wesmorgan1...sorry about the "colorful metaphors". I'll play nice from now on. I just let my fingers and emotion bypass common courtesy as a newcomer to your place. Again, my apologies. But the RNC is still a bunch of *&^%$#@. : )

"But the RNC is still a bunch of *&^%$#@. : )"

Yup. I told RNC honcho Duncan the same thing, just without the *&^%$#@. : ) part, in an e-mail. Oddly, I got no reply.

It's almost like he only wanted to hear from me if I sent a check. [insert rolling eyes here] Which will happen on a cold day in hell, unless the RNC pulls its collective head out of its nethermost orifice.

"or a party of pragmatic ideas which reflect the current situation."

And, like, which party has THAT? LOL

The rest of your post I actually mostly agree with skwawk, but I have yet to see in my lifetime, gov't by either party at any level have the ability to respond in such a way to anything. Gov't by it's very nature has nothing in it's make up that will allow for consistent, rational and reasonable responses to problem solving. And the bigger it gets the worse it gets. So I take it you are going conservative from here on out. LOL

BTW, as much as I admire Governor Palin for all of her accomplishments, and I would have voted for her for President btw, I have to agree that she is a nerve raker. I find it hard to relax when she speaks. Her voice is to high pitched, never quite sure what is going to come out and her unwillingness to control her colloquialismsms - i.e. youbetcha - drives me just a tad batty. Having said that, she is as qualified as anyone in Washington (put this in the perspective of who we have in Washington) to be VP or P.

Big O has a lot of on the job training ahead of him before he actually finds the ground he ultimately will stand on if he is willing to stand on any at all. He certainly isn't bringing in "real" experience to the job that would actually qualifiy him to be President, other than of course his ability to be a politician. He has plenty of that.

Yes... alot of on the job training ahead of him indeed.
Hopefully, in 4 years he'll be ready to run for president again.
(maybe he'll kick of his re-election campaign sometime next week)

"maybe he'll kick of his re-election campaign sometime next week"

Why next week? Is Bill Ayers' living room free then?

Gov't by it's very nature has nothing in it's make up that will allow for consistent, rational and reasonable responses to problem solving.
Actually, it used to understand such things. The best government programs in history have either given an initial boost to the private sector (e.g. the AEC's design and construction of the first commercial nuclear reactors), laid out fundamental technologies for later transfer to the private sector (e.g. NASA technology transfer, NSF funding of basic scientific research), or provided infrastructure for general use (e.g. TVA/REA for electricity, the Interstate Defense Highway, even WPA/CCC projects from the Depression-era New Deal). Toss in the "human capital" programs like the GI Bill, Peace Corps and VISTA/Americorps, and you have some of the best examples of what government can "do right" in the big picture.

I'm not sure whether BOOSH is a socialist, but one thing I know for damn certain,.....he's NO conservative,...neither is "komrade Rove" or McScamnesty.

Those three stooges and their "weenie RINO" brethren are exactly what's wrong with the repub party.
