Forgive me Winston, but from this time forward everytime I see you write the words "straight white men over 50", I am going to add, for my own enjoyment only, the additional words, "who can all kick Winston's ass".
It is a technique which may allow me to stomach reading more of what you write.

What's so strange about voting for Lizard People?
A few days ago I would have laughed and called this person a raving lunatic, but I've come to learn that at least 11.1% of BLRag editors actually believe that demons are real life creatures that attack their friends at night. We shouldn't mock this person's religion now should we?
Luckily, I'm immune to both demons and Lizard People.
Duff, you have to admit that the "holiday gift" of a CD including "Barack the Magic Negro" was a stunningly boneheaded move for one who would chair the RNC. Only slightly less boneheaded are those lining up to defend the aforementioned clown. Yes, there's a place for satire, but I don't think that Christmas packages from RNC leaders--who are busy talking about how they need to reach minority voters, right?--isn't the right place, and this certainly isn't the right time.
Egg, careful - I'm pretty sure that your 11% number is low, since I'm among the number in question. *laugh*
Actually, I think that the LA Times hits the nail on the proverbial head. They answer the "is he racist?" question with a hearty "who cares," but then point out:
THATi is why neither Salsman nor his defenders should be in sniffing distance of an RNC leadership position. As I posted earlier, Saltsman needs to be slapped for so grossly underestimating the leftist's ability to disingenuously fabricate racist incidents. He is indeed unqualified to lead, based upon his inability to understand the opposition.
You know, Wes, you'd think so, but apparently, based on the tsunami of support it's engendered, it was a stroke of genius.
They are bound and determined to become the Alabama Party. And far be it from me to dissuade reichwingers grimly intent on running over a cliff. Give 'em what they want.
Did you see me supporting anything? Wes, I know you are just trying to engage me in the conversation, but sometimes your leading statements such as "you have to admit" come off as a bit condescending.
For the record, the idea of the song sounds stupid and anyone who plays it or passes it along is an idiot. Even if the premise of the song began in some semi-legitimate fashion, which I don't really believe, it is still offensive as a subject matter. Any thinking person, even if they believe the song to be harmless, should have understood that most people do not think of the song as anything but offensive.
But, I have not heard the song, and I am not interested in hearing it.
All I was really protesting was Winston's broad strokes of bigotry against white straight males over 50. I also have a distaste for those who seem to hate all those who have faith. But that doesn't make me dislike any particular demographic group, it just makes me dislike the person who makes such statements.
Oh, brother. Up is truly down, eh?
Whoa - my apologies for sounding condescending...such was most certainly not my intent.
I like political satire as much as the next guy, but one has to be in a position to employ it. I don't think that this guy is a racist, but rather hamhanded; the Republican "brand" isn't in a position to employ satire where minorities are concerned. That's why I thought that the LA Times analysis was spot-on-target...
You thin skinned liberals need yo get over it, it was satire and it was funny.
Y'all are faking outrage because someone would DARE insult your boy,..the holy Obambi!
If it was about a republican,..that'd be just fine though,...huh?
WeSSY, when in the hell did you ever have concern over who runs the RNC?
You commie/libs think "reaching out " to minorities requires pandering........
Ask the RINOs how well "pandering" has served them in the last election.
Tazz, I have no desire for a one-party state. There is much to be welcomed from the conservative viewpoint, but the Republicans have done a horrendous job of practicing conservatism. I'd like to see someone lead the RNC to more expansive positions on traditional conservative beliefs, instead of merely pandering to the moral conservatives.
As far as the "outrage" is concerned, I'm not outraged; I don't even think that the guy in question is a racist. All I said was that it's pretty dumb (politically) to offer satire to audiences one hopes to attract. Duh.
Yeah Wes, ....but WHY do you care?....You're NOT a conservative, so why should it make a diff to you?
And BTW, the RINOs have NOT been "practising" conservatism, that's why they are DOA.
"Pandering to social conservatives"?..........BS.
"Pandering" to special interests and minorities,....YES!
