For All the Arguing...
...I have to say that, when it comes to the economy, either of the two candidates will be an improvement over this:
”Wall Street got drunk – it’s one of the reasons I asked you to turn off your TV cameras. It got drunk and now it’s got a hangover. The question is: how long will it sober up and not try to do all these fancy financial instruments?”

In reference to that blog post, I think it's time to start using the word "liar" instead of talking about this stuff as gaffes and/or pandering.
Washington Post Gets One Right
Fair is fair. When the leftist media back into the truth, attention must be paid.

No Particular Political Significance Here
Bob says he didn’t even know he’d struck anyone. There’s some video at the link to Politico.
I post this in the interest of keeping BL Rag visitors fully apprised of the up-to-the-minute news in Our Nation's Capitol.
What's New?
Free barbeque, free donuts with sprinkles, and a free pass from his base.
It's good to be John McCain and to have powerful friends. He commits yet another ghastly gaffe in a public broadcast, so CBS edits it out.
The Face of Desperation
"To say that Barack Obama wants to "lose" in Iraq is completely beyond acceptable standards of political discourse. For Senator McCain to impugn the loyalty and patriotism of a sitting United States Senator while he is overseas to gain some short-term political leverage is beneath the dignity of the office which he holds. This is an act of political desperation and moral cowardice. John McCain should be ashamed of himself and immediately apologize."

Michelle Obama: Think of the Children
Oh, brother. The children need her husband. McCain will harm the children. Woe, despair, agony.
"I wish we had time to be divided. I wish we had time to be upset. To be angry. To be disappointed. I wish we did," Obama said. "Because if we had time for that, then things wouldn't be so bad right now. Instead, we're in a place where another four or eight years of the world as it is will devastate the life of some child."

Fox News Helps Their "Brother Bear"
It's this kind of media partisanship that makes me sick:
Even Fox News broke away from Mr. McCain midevent to cover the rescue of a bear cub wounded in a California fire and nicknamed Lil’ Smokey.Fox News is just another media outlet drunk on the Siren's song that is Obama's message. Oh, sure, they tried to fake a spine by running a crawler of "Obama In Iraq: Second-Ever Trip There" under their coverage of his arrival in Baghdad, but that was just so they could feign some sort of "balance" when right-thinking Americans complained; by the time Obama spoke in Jordan, Fox couldn't get on the Obamessiah Lovefest Biaswagon fast enough. The "news decision" described above is just the latest example of how deep in the tank FNC is for Obama, and how blatantly they're skewing their coverage of McCain to help their Fearless Leader. A bear cub rescue newsworthy? My foot; I'll just bet that Obama partisans planted that bear in the California firebreak, and Fox practically fell over themselves in their haste to get away from John McCain to the conveniently-timed "hot story" of "animal rescue." Disgusting.
Take Responsibility? OUR Congress? Fat Chance.
Will Congress, in its frantic pell mell race to spend the taxpayers' money on correcting the mortgage mess, take any responsibility for helping to create the mess in the first place? Highly doubtful.
Oh, I'm sure there will be a handful of sane voices out of the 435, but not nearly enough. One must assume that Congress wants to play Cover Our Backsides in order to avoid seeing their 9% approval rating drop even farther into the abyss.

Obama love, media style
I apologize for the bluntness, but there's just no other way to describe my reaction to this than to say I wanted to vomit.
Objective media? Journalism? Right.
From the Obama Campaign Director of Hubris, Part II
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/us_and_americas/us_elections/article4363044.ece
Lest there be any illusions about the desired target audience for Obama’s trip, the foreign media, including the BBC, have been left on the Tarmac. Only American reporters are on board “Obama One” as his plane heads from one country to the next.
He will have a 45-minute meeting on Saturday morning with Gordon Brown followed by a press conference, which Obama will conduct on his own outside Downing Street in a blatant departure from the usual protocol.
There will be no Brown at his side to spoil the No 10 backdrop for American voters, even though it would be unthinkable for a British prime minister to appear in the White House Rose Garden without the president.
From the Obama Campaign Director of Hubris:
At a morning background briefing, reporters parried with senior advisers on the characterization of Obama’s speech Thursday in Berlin as a campaign rally. The outdoor speech at the Victory Column could draw thousands of people, similar to the size of Obama events in the United States.
“It is not going to be a political speech,” said a senior foreign policy adviser, who spoke to reporters on background. “When the president of the United States goes and gives a speech, it is not a political speech or a political rally.
“But he is not president of the United States,” a reporter reminded the adviser.
